The first face panel is really good. The brushwork and textures are sweet, also in the second bust shot. Great stuff as usual. It's not often that I ever see bad things from you dude. Keep rippin it up.

Speaking of desktops - made this one this morning just for fun. the soldier on top inspired by Hermann and the Slaine head is a Biz study. And I just cant resist spamming the sketchbook section a bit - check it out once in a while, dudes! So many amazing artists doing killerstuff - lewiston and Velinov being must sees!

Hi, my friend. How are you? I'm so-so. I wish I were a bird or something.

Wanted to write a post in your favorite manner, the short and honest one. I predict it is not gonna happen. :)
OK, here my honest confession. I know many people like and liked the first page, "I'm Monsieur Herbert" very much. I looked and looked trying to understand its attraction and I really wish I could. But something is lacking in me, because apparently many people with great taste like it so much. And I don't have the same nice feeling looking at it. I know every needed words. Laconic image, texture creates a human face randomly, asymmetry, coarse texture. But when I look all my thoughts are going in direction of very dark face on the white BG, and it is biggest impression of all. I don't even go beyond this impression to the expression of his face (although he looks like a hungry dog :)). I'm stuck with it. Right after this I'm gonna search for the name Herbert, maybe it will add some information for me. Somehow I have an association with fantasy literature, "Invisible human" novel, or something. Wish people say more and tell what they feel. I don't know why but i wish to dig this to the end. it kind of irritates me that I don't get the attraction.
Yeah I know stupid to wish this in art impression, but I will tell that I changed a lot so everything is possible.

I like the girl in helmet the same though ( second post), her face, her soft lips and nose and alert eye. Forms are very mild and line is precise, and they kind of flow into each other, in very gently manner. It touches me. and calms me the way your dog calms you. :)

Like the speedy of girls with sweet face and the little lightnings around her, like light bugs or christmas lights, very soft too and sweet.

Well those are my favorites and the one which makes me look more at it and search for feeling inside me.
I like the poses on some too. but it is mostly technical things I like: soldier, squatted blue collar dude and mysterious creature holding something, its lips again, very sweet.

Too many images in the world to waste time on one that dont do it for you the first time:wink: Searching for the name Herbert is not going to help much though, he is my character and the name was picked somewhat randomly. Wrote in so many words about picture except the info I wanted. Who is he, your character and why you chose him to be with the other characters in FF section, means it is special in something for you too.
If so many people like it I should look and try to understand if not like.
Forget to mentioned the comics colored character, I like him too, for the smile, it is vicious.

sve - a human with no brain, ahh the bliss. No sure who he is - a mood i guess. Yes, im happy with it myself, hehe. Hmm, i disagree a bit - just because other people like it, dosnt mean you have to or try and understand why. I see the motivation of course, but imagine every time you run into a piece some like and you dont and you have to understand why - it would take too much time away from the works you enjoy. I dont like cheese even though millions of other do, hehe. Not meaning to turn this into a discussion. Cheers!

Thanks for discussion :). You don't know my Beatles story. I changed to a totally opposite opinion about them and glad I did. Thanks for the cheese info, it asks for very nice cartoon :). haha, no problem, sve! I do believe in changing opinions. Just not if it has to be forced. Some stuff takes years to understand and appriciate(not talking about Herbert here). I had trouble understanding why so many people in Denmark loved the works of Asger Jorn untill one day i was at his museum (not the first time) and his paintings just open up to me and blew my mind. Now i even have a tiny piece of class he drew on, hehe. Happy that i can give you endless stimulus, hehe. Yeah, bears, sharks and cheese - really scary stuff! Damn, yeah, the flowerthing...:wink:
