This mother alien is taking her child out to teach it how to gather food in the local area. However the child is more interested in the giant seeds of local plants, which for several weeks each year fill the skies of the dry plains.

Enjoy!

you got the inspiration for this from a roast chicken, didn't you? Especially the heads, they're the bits on the ends of the bone.

The one bit that bothers me is the kid's arms. I quite like the picture, but I'm not really great on commenting on paintings, so I stop here.

wow the designs are insane.
i do wish u made the kids head bigger, so he could have more classic child proportions

Looks a little more evolutionary than alien, but still a cool picture. Love the giant dandylion seeds.

Very unique and intriquing concept and an adorable painting! The seperate cranium and mouthparts was an excellent idea. Crits: The fingers of the alien kid's hand that mom is holding look somewhat like a single knob, rather than actual separate fingers. Also, I think mom's left foot would look a little more natural if the toes weren't curled back so much.
Nice job!

I could see why the kids left arm would bother some people, but then you look to the mom and see that not only do they have 2 joints "elbows" but that they are double jointed, i think. The "blob" that is the two joining hands only looks that way to me because its in the shadows and its only four fingers that are intersecting, so I can't imagine that i could look any other way unless you threw light on it.
I really like it. To me it looks like the evolution of Emu's except for the cranium being separated from the mouth...but I still like it. Really nicely done. If you create any new species, you could start up a book. And its nice when artists put in a back story to these things.
