Hi Fexem, i think that you have a good hand for sculpture and you can improve your style.
for me there are 3 work good :2 alins head and the ogre(last post).
i think that you have a big possibility to be a talent in sculpture!
This is my opinion!

THAM!!!! that's some seriously nice sculpt. that zombie makes me want to repaint the zombie i made so i'm gonna repaint him, that shouldŽld please some other guys on this forum.
and that alien the red one the paint job on that thing is amazing how the hell do you do that!?
September 30th, 2006, 10:45 AM
Thanks guys for comments !!
The alien is 51/2 inch tall, he's acrylic painted. I've applied severals coatings of different tones, i used both brushing and washing techniques...
To made those kind of spots mix water with paint put a little drop on sculpt let it dry a bit and sponge it.... this create kind of outlined spots...

The second alien sculpture, whether or not you sculpted a 5 1/2 mini or not, is from JORDU SCHELL and even if you made your own copy you still need to credit the ORIGINAL artist. http://www.schellstudio.com/sculpture.htm

I agree, your sculpts are nice but you need to give Credit to Jordu, after it's his work you are copying...

Sorry everyone but it's true, i forgot to mention those sculpts are based on a mask and a concept from Jordu Shell...
I very estimate and respect the work of Jordu so i try to learn from him...
I dont want to shock anyone here !!

I think that there aren't anithing wrong to copy from other artists,
if someone wont to be an artist there aren't nothing best than copy: nature, sculpture or some artist work.
October 6th, 2006, 09:49 AM
Yes, you have incredible tallent with your sculptures; especially, aparently, with mimicking. You have an incredible eye for detail, but I would love to see something original. Are the Zombie and the dog and things original, or are they also reproductions? Beautiful work, but yes, it's always, alwaysimportant to credit the original artist. How long does something like that first one of the old man take you? (I have a lot of trouble with heads so it takes me forever to get one looking even decent.)

Cool work, very nice paint,
As Sahreeb, i would loke to see somme originals sculpts from you.You seem to observe a lot and you are a very good copyist (I don't know if this word exist...)It s very difficult to respect proportions and lines from another artist so bravo....
But know maybe the most intersting work for you would be to do your own, with your great talent of modeling/painting
keep going on
October 6th, 2006, 11:17 AM
Thanks for comments !!!
Only the two aliens from Jordu are reproductions, the others are originals...
The old vamp tooks me about 40 hours to complete, including base, paint and hairs... Hairs are made from cats fur glued with mod podge...
I will post more pics later...

Thanks for looking !!
October 8th, 2006, 09:18 AM
Man now i am sure your very talented
I like all of them,
The shinning one is great with light
The first one is scary too in his dark pic
Minion is great but i prefer his profile than face
Same crit for your wolf
October 21st, 2006, 07:20 PM
I enjoyed your sculpt, I think you could smooth things down a bit, the lines on the 'ogre' your first pic and the frank are quite sharp. Dont forget to smooth!
October 23rd, 2006, 02:34 PM
These are all just wonderful. I like the fact that you vary your subject matter a good deal and try a lot of different textures and materials. Really awesome work. :)
October 24th, 2006, 11:59 AM
Thanks to all of you for critics and comments !!!
Heres a new sculpt...
I named him Gnorr Mehoni, he is a spaceship captain...
He stand 11 inch tall
October 24th, 2006, 01:22 PM
That's outstanding. He's got a real "Jim Henson's Creature Shop" feel to him. Very cool dude. :)
October 24th, 2006, 01:58 PM
The shinning sculpt is really cool!
November 7th, 2006, 07:06 PM
Hello there !!
Thanks for comments guys !!
Here's some pics of a sculpt i recently made... It a 4 inch figure i made very fast: 15 hours from start to ready-to-paint...unfortunately it takes me the same time to paint it !!!
He is totally improvised, no reference pics, no drawings, no basic idea at startup...
He have removable gas mask, helmet and weapon...
Thank's for looking...
Critics and comments are welcome !!
November 7th, 2006, 08:14 PM
allright, here is the question i always ask ppl bu never realyl get a real answer.
the sculpt is amazing stuff, but how do you make belts, mechanics, tubes, and other symmetrical and smooth stuff? basically the whole weapon for example and the mask?
so basically unorganic stuff.
i never understood how to achieve symmetry, perfect angles and perfect smoothness with sculpey, and have never really been explained.
i was just told to kinda. just do it.
November 8th, 2006, 06:03 AM
Really nice work on this small statue
Head is maybe a little too big I don't like the left mechanical arm which is a little twisted and down, personal opinion
but the rest is awesome..Nice painting
You are Very talented
How does the mask stick on the face?
November 8th, 2006, 04:10 PM
Thanks Pijay and Manslauter for comments !!
Manslauter: for making belts and straps i simply roll a ball of clay until i get a thin sheet, cut it with exato knife, ad textures and put in place.... For example the leg straping is too thin to have armature so it's just sculpey...
Its very fragile... I will maybe use Aves apoxie in the future for this kind of thing...
For making tubes and round buttons just roll worms of sculpey and cut to desired shape...
For the mask, i made a kind of push mold of the front half of the head with sculpey. With this method it's sure you dont ruin the original. I made the mask directly on the replica... unbaked sculpey stick enough to baked one to not fool around and dont stick too much to be able to remove it... to make sure it removes in one piece i just frozen it with a air can before removing ... The mask stay in place by himself...he has the face printed inside !! On the other hand, the front tube help him to stay in place too....
Hope this awnser a bit !!

Hello everyone !!
Here's two pics of a sculpt i have made a couple of weeks ago...
It's a kind of blend between rat and wolf...
I made the sculpt and paint in 10 hours or so, but it's 19 hours of work for glueing the fur small bundles at a time from bottom to top !!
Thanks for looking !!
November 24th, 2006, 03:15 AM
Very scary rat between the cartoon and the horror, could be in the film "Braindead"
Amazing work with the fur
May me think of an evil mind mind, the rat preparing something really bad
maybe hands look like a bit rigid
position of teeth may not let him close the mouth
Well very good work
November 24th, 2006, 04:39 AM
wow your work is amazing.congratulations, like it's already been said it's really good that you vary different styles of work, i love the alien guy with the gun, the way you can sculpt fur ,as well as add it to a sculpt, keep up the good work :)
December 2nd, 2006, 01:13 PM
Thanks to Pijay and Tysiony for comments, it's always appreciated !!

December 5th, 2006, 01:00 AM
Totally awesome stuff you have here.
December 11th, 2006, 12:39 AM
There's a WIP pic of another zombie bust.... (just to mention it, they measure on average 3 1/2 inches high)
This time i'll try to do a bust of ''big daddy'' the zombie leader of Land of the dead... At this time i only have the head... need some touch-up here and there !!
Eyes and color are made in photoshop...
Hope you recognize him !!
December 11th, 2006, 09:32 AM
This one looks quite cool, but we can see the all face
in my opinion, i prefer your other sculpts, zombies'one are common and classic
That's my personal advise even if your work is welldone, they qeem to be dead...lol...even for a zombie we need to see some life in it. they are a bit frozen,
the last one seem to be much better than others, kind of enigmatic man. ear is really well done and the colour of eyes could be very intereting with translucent fimo (i am not sur of this word sorry, means clay you can see in the dark)
keep going on
December 11th, 2006, 12:59 PM
Thanks Pijay for comments !!
I know, zombies are common and classic.....but i love it !!!
A heap of things has already been made but you should not refrain from making them for that....i think
What do you mean by ''we need to see some life in it'' position are too stiff ??
Have a good day
December 11th, 2006, 10:48 PM
First pic is too dark...
Here's a new one !!
December 12th, 2006, 12:15 AM
Fun stuff here. Makes me want to sculpt. :)
December 12th, 2006, 05:21 AM
I can understand Zombies are interesting, i will make some maybe.
Yes , They are a bit stiff,
The last pic is great , maybe one of your best "human" head for me. Very good, the only thing is the thing on the nose , i don't know if it's flesh or cartilage
December 12th, 2006, 07:43 AM
Some really nice work here but i would suggest getting some better light sources when taking a photo to show it off. Mind you im not one to talk , i can be very creative and turn out some really nice pieces but i cant take a good photo for shiznit!
December 13th, 2006, 12:55 PM
Thanks for comments !!
At this stage i'm not so sure with the body...
I made the head just a little too big compared to the other zombie bust... and too big to make a full figure ...
So i was thinking about a bigger bust(from hips to head)
I made this in photoshop with the sculpt of the head and actual shot from the movie...
Let me know what you think of it...
Have suggestions ??

June 26th, 2007, 09:05 AM
