ok, so im doing this caran dache self portrait, but i am thinking about mixing it with oils as well....do you think if i used spray damar varnish it would mess up the watersoluble caran dache?

On paper? I'd use Crystal Clear rather than damar. Just make sure you can do it outside or at least with all your windows open. That stuff is pretty nasty.
