Hi everyone.
My name is Jason and I'm directing a short fantasy film called "Spectre". The script is complete (15 pages, 4 drafts; written by myself and a partner).
I'm interested in working with one or more concept artists who can help me develop the visual look of the film: the characters, locations, color palette for each scene, and some visual effects. This would be a collaborative effort; ie, I'd like to work closely with you to develop each element over time with multiple iterations. You would have a lot of room to explore.
Here's some detail on the project:
- Website: http://www.spectre-movie.com
- Powerful story (I hope!)
- fantasy genre with an epic feel
- 15 pages long in standard script format
- Plot summary available on the website
- 4 main characters of interest, one of which is actually an inanimate object
- 3 major locations
- Other minor characters and locations
Compensation:
This is currently a low budget film, which means I cannot afford to pay you up front. Depending on how our funding works out, deferred payment is a possibility. What I can guarantee is that you'll get credit in the movie (woo-hoo!), links to your site from both the movie site and our production company website, and likely a lot of exposure in the various "behind the scenes" videos we plan to produce. Basically, any chance I get to plug you, I will.
About me:
I'm an indy filmmaker living in Northern California. I have directed about half a dozen short films, some of which have had some small success in local festivals or online contests. You can view what I have at http://www.argonaut-ent.com. In addition to those movies I have a very strong history with working in the fantasy genre and and very well connected within it. If you share a passion for this genre, we'll have a lot of fun.
Other Info:
This would be a fairly long-term commitment! Not full time or anything, but something you'd probably be working on for at least a few months, fairly regularly. My partner and I are active, responsive, and energetic. And we're in this for the long haul. We're looking for artists who are up to the same challenge.
If you're interested, or have questions, just email me: jason@argonaut-ent.com
Looking forward to hearing from you.
