I'm preparing for a final and was hoping someone would tell me what i could do to fix my archer's right arm. it seems ODD, could it be too short? I can't seem to fix it. Oh and if theres any other anatomical issues u see be kind and point them out for me. Thanks guys. :waves:

honestly I don't see anythin' wrong with his pulling arm... if your woried about it you might wanna pull it in more and use some foreshortening to see how that works.. the only problem I see is the neck.. you should define it a little more.. in the second pic it looks like his head is just floating there... get a good grade :)

Hi chaser,
agree with sammy, and you don't make things esier for yourself by choosing such an extreme camera angle.
small detail: when doing archery you do not hold on to the bow like the elf is doing. you have a much more loose and open hand, what keeps the bow from falling is a strap around your wrist and the handle of the bow.

The elbow on the right arm should be higher (or at least, the archers at the club I went to had their elbows higher) About level with the ear. Also, what R_M said abot the left hand's true as well.
Hope that helps
Edit: Oh, and the fingers holding the string should be streached out more, you hold it with the fingertips, not with the joint.

The arm he's pulling with looks a little strange on the wrist. A little thin.

REFERENCE, REFERENCE, REFERENCE.
You need three things: A camera, a bow or a bent stick, and a dude you can take a picture of doing the pose. Once you have those things, the other stuff will work itself out.
Everybody in the industry uses reference material. Some people (me included) go out and study some of the things they are going to create. I suggest you do the same. Good luck on your finals.

The issues of the hand were above mentioned - the perspective itself seems o.k. to me. One other thing that comes into my mind is the position of the arrow. In this situation and kind of grip the arrow would lie on the other side of the bow, resting on the back of the hand. If itīs on the right side (from the archer) of the bow, like youīre showing here, the arrow would be unstable. One other thing that I see and thatīs maybe just PITA is that an archer doing instinctive shooting (like the medieval ones normally did) would hold both eyes open. I suppose your reference is from olympic shooting where sights are used.
Hope I could help a little bit
