For all you computer-minded folks..

I'm having a problem with me scanner. It's a Memorex MEM49U.
Anyway, I don't have the disk for it so I proceeded to download the drivers. They installed fine but the program doesn't detect the scanner even though my puter does. (It's listed in the hardware wizard)
I get error:
"Cannot operate!
1. Please check whether the scanner connects to the computer.
2. Make sure the scanner connects to the power, and the LED is on.
3. Note that you cannot connect the scanner to the bus power device."

I'm also getting a TWAIN error...

Please tell me if there is anything else you need to know.
Thanks muchly in advance for your help~

Firstly, I'd try an uninstall/reinstall on the drivers. Drivers don't always uninstall properly so check the manufacturers website to see if they have a special app to do this.

As for the twain error, if the error message was something like "unable to open twain source", give this a go.
Go to C/Documents and Settings/Local Settings/ComputerName/Temp/ and look for a (possibly hidden) file called twain.mtx.

If it's there, delete it, reboot and try again.

I did try uninstalling and reinstalling, then reboot but the error persists. I didn't get the driver from the manufacturers website since I couldn't find it there, so I got it from some third party place. Maybe that makes a difference?

what program cant find the scanner? i know some scanners use there own fancy dancy little programs that they need to scan. usaly comes with the drivers ya download. the 3rd party site might not have had that program that the other program needs to scan from your scanner. ( like in photoshop my photoshop opens tha agfa scan program then agfa scan finds my scanner and scans very badly then sends the file to photoshop)
