Demdike, weren't you first on the "poofy dress..." one also? Hah, well I really like your entry... it's got a lot of energy and really cool lighting (that street lamp orange glow to it also). The bike's pretty sweet too.
I kind of went overboard with the 3d on this one. Also spent way too much time, ~3 hours plus touch ups
[Edited it some more]

So much to do today, but if it's still raining tonight I'll stay in and have a crack at this topic myself. Again, sweet stuff! :)

Marty666 really nice, even if I somewhat miss the crashing window.

dan liimatta: Thanx! I need to put in some falling glass maybe. I like yours too. Different values for the background and the figure would make your image read better.

Too true, besides not making the bike hyper that was a bad mistake on my part.

yess.. I love this, everyone's is the epitome of badass.
AlphaDMF - it's not terrible at all... join the carnage and exploding glass madness and get the image on here (instead of via link)!
Dan Liimatta - Thanks for the comment. Yours is awesome but I think Marty666 was right, it needs to stand out a little more... I think the background on the right is limiting this. We know you can draw superbly (and quickly!). And any bike that flys through glass like that is "hyper"
Good to see Goran's back, also
(Demdike, ya you are right... i just meant you were the first to post an actual image ;) )

Dan - Much better, I just needed details on the tires and you fulfilled. I like the nearby glass, it's actually quite real looking !
Crustacean - wonderfully, richly colored as usual. I like the engine/thrust

Doesn't look like it's activated in this forum. Otherwise it's just under "Additional Options" in the reply screen.
Awesome stuff so far. I'll see if I have time to whip something up as well.

Marty666 - Best one so far. I like the expressions on the crowd's faces.

I agree
demdike

adding critiques...
AlphaDMF - don't you worry too much, it'll be fine:) Like the angle, but it's a bit blurry
and the buildings apperar too bright to me.
goran - like the character a lot! not so sure about the first pic though, maybe only
because I adore your strong BW-style
Marty666 - my personal fav, especially for the lighting and the people's expressions
dan liimatta - VERY nice. To me, the face is the best part, the guy seems to enjoy this stunt:D
Crustacean - also a lovely pic, although it's a bit hard to distract driver and bicycle from
the background. But the whole background is awesome, like human-crafted icebergs
setmonkey - good lighting on the bike, also like that you included the reflection of the explosion
Hamsta - like the clouds reflecting in the buildings - and I agree on the straight lines, to hell with'em.
Hooray for everybody!

I think two knives being thrown into someone's head while flipping backwards through a window and a motorcyle exploding in the background can satisfy as 'maintaining the awesome.'
Marty666
September 23rd, 2006, 06:27 AM
Yeah mehz, really cool idea! My rider will die a few seconds later. Yours will probably land elegantly in between the dead bodies of the guards to collect het knifes. Thinking 'Who needs a hyper bike if everyone following you is dead'. I'd like to see it colored.

xD Thanks, but, I'm honestly too inexperienced with colour atm. Still practicing and trying to produce something that doesn't look like someone's vomit.

September 23rd, 2006, 09:40 AM
Marty666 Well good just got better, the addition of glass was nice.
Crustacean Really nice, love the colours and style, as always with your pieces.
Mehz As Marty and Johnny said, flying through a window and throwing daggers is surly aweinspiring enough. & about colours; just try some colour studies, for example look at pictures you like and try to duplicate them, and learn how colours works in photographs; and do the same with your favorite sketches and drawings. Besides if you actually make me vomit and not just look away thats worthy a medal!
demdike I've mostly trained at faces the last month, so I be damned if I can press one into every DSG; though sometimes they take up too much focus, anyway thanks :)

demdike Very firey. ;)
The street lights might be too similar to the explosion, and might be causing it to lose focus.
Shouldn't the explosion cast more light on the building being exited from?

dan liimatta Taking up too much focus...good point, never thought of it.
Nevertheless, Ill be glad if you sometimes press a face into one of your entries.

Yup, got me :\ I completely forgot about the explosion's and bicycle's reflection
in the buildings. I like it this monochromatic way, but you're right, the
streetlights could faint a little in the distance, giving the explosion room to
shine. I'll do better next time - always shied back from environments, this one
was one of my first.

Marty666 - great job; the thing that really does it for me is the crowd below. Lots of depth in your piece. my fav.
