Perhaps more contrast between the background and the characters? Everything has the same value.

I agree with KenJ. The characters are blending in with the background a bit too much.

I really like the colors though.

Thanks for your crits!

A minor update.
I changed the values slightly as you suggested. I also have put in some volumefog and a bit more contrast...
Other crits are more then welcome!

Hi there beerbuddy! Why did you leave so early tonight? I would darken the figure in the back a bit more. You really overdid the sharpening although in some places it works nice. Some shapes don't read very well. The right leg of the guy in the back and the hands and lower arms of the one in front. The background could use a bit less sudden value changes in some places. They really distract. Keep going!

Morgen pokeren, beter ben je erbij!

i agree with marty666 and disagree with the comments that were given regarding the background....it was blending in a bit...but the color and vaqlues you had were fine...i would have sugessted that you bring the front figure out by adding crisp detail..perhaps textue on the shoulder armour...that kind of thing...sort of imitiating camera focal depth.
and leave the smaller figure as is...or perhaps defining the lower half of both charecters (legs crotches etc...) but over all the color and value relationships are actualy quite nice in the first version.

yeah i would say creating a focal point threw details would help possibly easing and softening up the sharp edges in the background and making the front figure crisper like was mentioned

another fact that supports this point...is
that when you view the thumnail..its awsome and perfect...
both figures are very visable at that "distance"
