Hi,

Theres a lot of work left to do in it, but i think ill leave it over night to see what you people think.

As you can see i have barely touched the foreground, so my main consern at the moment is with the background and the main bulk of the citadel. If you have any cool ideas or just some general feedback let me know.

cheers. :)

Whoah, thats pretty intense. Theres a lot going on in the picture. You might want to tone down the sky a bit and change up some of the colors, usually water isn't the same color as the sky =D Also, i'm not sure what your going to add in the foreground.. but it definetly needs something more to show how huge the place is.. something that we can judge it by. Looks like its going to come out to be a good pic =D Keep it going!

Dryfire- i added a boat to the foreground just for you :D

It still needs a lot of work in all areas, and im not sure about the new composition with the cathedrals on both sides. Theyre just placeholders at the moment, simple cut and paste from one side to the other.

More crits and thoughts appreciated :)

I always thought water was the same colour as the sky, since that's what it's reflecting. The second does look better though, the water seems like it's reflecting the lights on the boat, very nice effect

I like the Overall effect of what you have so far. Very impentrable! A few suggestions though...If I were you, I would put in a little more detail in the towers, right now they look alot like rock formations rather then towers. Maybe add some windows or paraptes, or however thats spelled. Also, I might add some more wave breakers around the edges of the rock, to help give the illusion of the water. You also may want to add a pier or somewhere for the boat to dock, I think this would add interest, also would help again to show the size of this place. Water does reflect the sky, but generally you can tell where one ends and the other begins. I think in your second image you have improved on that alot though. Looks good. :)

It looks a bit like Island of the Dead by Böcklin.

You get a kind of creepy feeling...

Ah, great changes, thanks for the ship =P It compliments the picture quite a lot and brings everything to the correct scale =D The improvements on water are great too. Hehe, just to clear that up, water does reflect the sky to a degree, but not entirely the same color. It depends on how light/dark the sky is as does the depth of the water that contributes to it, and to the surrounding land. If the water was the same color as the sky, there would be no horizon line =D I think the additions are great, and I agree that you should add some uniform windows or whatnot to create a more man made effect. Looking good!
