Hey, I'm new here. This is probably the most recent finished piece that I have scanned and uploaded. I apologize for the darkness, but I didn't feel an introduction really counted if I came empty handed.

Welcome to the forum! Pretty neat lines, shapes and shades here. I wish I could see more details, though....

Pretty cool... the hand and sword are quite hard to make out at first. Larger version would be nice though.

Well, it took me a while to get my scanner working again, but I finally got the promised high-res version of this illustration. I just edited the initial post with the newer scan.

I also wanted to share with you an image of my latest progress on a 3D model version of the character:

The top row, is the antialiased model. The second row is a test of post-effects trying to accomplish something closer to the illustration style of minimalistic implied line in the face.

Wow, I love the texture on the first pic!

Thanks.

Actually, when I look at it I see all the places that I failed to accomplish what I was really trying to do. So to hear someone compliment me about one that I felt was a specific failure is definately encouraging.

LemonHeart, Simplistics,

Thanks! I appreciate the vote of confidence.

Layil,

Thanks, actually that's an example of my more "tight" work... I did an image dump thread: IMAGE DUMP THREAD (http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=68846). If you want to see some of my loose ink.

Hey the first pic ihas something really nice!

Maybe get in there with white pencil and do something more to it to give some highlights to help make out the sword and hand more. Just lighten some areays a little they're now the same value all over.

This style would look cool with the halftone patterns Koro uses (see tutorial section) !

Thanks Eric,

I couldn't agree more about the white pencil. Actually, I've been toying with either applying a final layer of white gesso highlites or conte crayon.

I'll check out Koro.
