Hello, I am currently a senior in architecture and have been assigned a project that requires the 3d modeling of... anything. My goal is to eventually get a job modeling or rigging rather than designing concept work itself, and would be interested in doing a collaboration with one of you if anyone is interested!
The concept and design will be credited to you, and will be used as a portfolio piece for my grad applications. Any existing designs you've done that you find interesting or possibly a new design between us would be most helpful. I think this would be a good chance for anyone to practice making a useable orthographic for modeling, and would benefit both of us.
My email is simpson (dot) Jon (at) gmail (dot) com... sorry, I'm not a fan of spiders. Please contact me with ideas or post any designs you might have done here.
---------------------------------------
On a side note:
I'm involved in another class that is doing storyboarding and have a story that I'm currently working on. It's very simple and I would definitely be interested if anyone had any designs for the main character. The animated short would be approx 1min in length.
I'll try to explain the basic idea, an outwardly confident dwarf knight marches up a giant mountain towards a gigantic door easily the height of 30 men, when he reaches the top he pushes with all his might and is able to make an opening just shoulder width. He pulls out his weapon and proceeds to enter.
A scene from behind shows him inside of a monolithic cathedral that expands to blackness in the distant. As he ventures further there are a few flashes of orange/red light from the transept and then a blast of flames. The flash of the flames startles and shakes the confidence of the knight. A giant shadow of a dragon is cast on the far wall. At the glimpse of the shadows the knight jumps, and looney toons style, in a puff of smoke is gone leaving his armor suspending in mid air. Which then comes crashing down.
After that an overly cute baby dragons turns the corner of the transept and then burps one last ball of fire at the camera.
----------------------------------------------------
If anyone is interested in designing the knight, or the baby dragon that would be amazing! But I'm just as open to any orthographic you might have already done.
Thanks and Gig'Em!
