The art of nude modelling

I caught an episode of this 6 part documentary last night that I thought you might like to keep an eye out for.
It is airing in Canada on Bravo Mon nights I believe.

One of the models from Montreal was on (Carston?) and I swear one of the artists interviewed was standing in front of a painting I recognize from here.
Anyone know?

Its a very simple art. all you have to do is not look at your own weiner becuase then you will be naked.

Flynt told me once, he had done a 36 hour figure drawing... They had a dancer from NYC who could control his muscles so well, they had asked him at one point "How do you stay still for so long without moving?" It turns out because of his background, he could shift muscle groups so he wouldn't get tired. Amazing, really.

It's NOT a simple art or else there wouldn't be so many crappy models. Most are ok but some are just amazing... They can take interesting poses and it doesn't take them hours to find the pose. And mostly, they can hold those interesting poses without moving. The male model from the workshop was rather amazing.

Yea....I have to agree with Qitsune - it's definitely not simple (I did a 2 hour pose ONCE for a life drawing course because one of our models was sick and the other didn't show up, and think I did "ok", but it was really hard not to shift a little)

The best model I've ever drawn from oddly enough wasn't a dancer or anything, she was another student that did it as "work study" - she ended up modeling for the class for about 3 years. (and one of the semesters was during her pregnancy - which resulted in very interesting work progression - you could see her filling out as the months progressed). She was one of those rare 'amazing' people to draw from...the rest were mediocre or lower.

And not everyone can do it - one semester it eventually got to the point where the entire class decided to boycott another model because the professor wouldn't/couldn't fire her. (When told to draw her, we'd just draw each other instead).
