This is a really nice piece. I like his position and everything looks dead on. The background looks a tad unfinished. Here's a tutorial that might help you out.

It's done by Imp head. Check out his site, he has a lot of good pieces.

really good work man.
its great to see people really make an attempt at painting this much, the less you paint the less you open yourself to criticism, in a very public sense. would be nice to see your wips.
as for what you said dont wont about the light and colour so much.
worry more about drawing, shape and value!!
can see a lot of talent here
Really get a good foundation before you lick it in, a house needs the foundations before you can even think about sticking in the windows. you may be spending too much time getting frustrated.
avoid black, even in shadow.
i can see even from your site stuff you are not general enough before you start to get specific.
Dont worry about splashing lots of paint down, even diitally, it gives you more to play with. maybe try and work monochrome before thinking about colour, digital makes it so easy if you want to add it later.
Great work
lot of faith in yaa bud, dont let me down ;)
not dissing this piece its cool, unsure shape design is its biggest flaw.
