D2 was chosen really for how easy it was to mod. Doom 2 was a modders dream. These are hard! How are you supposed to choose between you beloved children! I'll have to write comments to most topics, i hope thats not a problem. Just in case anyone reads these (which i doubt :P )

Tony Hawk 2, 3 and 4 were really better in a way, but i have fond memories 1 and 2 because they were new back then - i remember playing the School level for hours trying to get the perfect run out of the level design. I wonder if it would had been worth it to not include Manuals and Reverts, but work on the level design more.
SF2 wins for being unsurpassed in it's of button mashing simplicity. Pwning my brother was AWESOME!

Playing with XNA + IronPython are still up high on my to-do list.
I prefer GTA : VC because it just had more style than the obnoxious me-too rap setting in SA. After VC it was just a lot more of the same, in a far inferior setting. And the size of the gameworld meant they had to reduce a lot of the detail in the game. I remember the letdown when i was driving through LV for the first time and some of the textures were just bad. Especially some signs and billboards would've been nicer if they had done more then make the intern do them in probably 5 minutes between working on grass and sand textures.

5. The people walking around in the GTA games who do nothing but run around and talk to strangers. Rockstar game designers should seriously start going out and looking at real ppl more often. I swear, every non-gangster in the gta world is high.

I know its cheap, but this category is really difficult for a guy who prefers action games. Definitely not Alyx from HL2. I'm not sure i liked what valve did to their characters in HL2. I liked Dr. Kleiner in Part 1 though.

You should have seen how angry my brother would get if i'd find a way to use the level design to my advantage. We were level in terms of aiming and tricks (read: we sucked), but that really made it more fun. I disliked playing with the guys from my school because either they'd run into the walls all the time or they were just too good at railgun headshots while bunnyhopping.

1. Lucasarts Adventures need to return, and i think if episodic content works out commercially it might just happen.
2. Quake 1. Not the Stroog BS.
3. Classic Doom - For some reason Doom 3 just didn't work for me.

1. Overwatch Rifle in HL2. If only it had had the Assault Rifle's secondary fire *sigh*
2. Super Shotgun - Instant gratification
3. Quake 2 Railgun in Deathmatch

Gravity Gun was awesome, but it felt weird switching to it. It was more of a tool than a weapon. Maybe it should have just been an update to the normal way in HL2 to grab stuff, so i could Force-get stuff or throw around furniture without actually changing weapons each time.

Most rememberal game memory/moment:
1. After playing Half - Life i'd often be reminded of how awesome some situations in the game had been. So for quite a while i'd bug my family / friends with "OMG that part in HL was SO awesome!" whenever we were watching a movie, or i saw a hallway that reminded me of the game, or ...
2. Going threw corridors sideways "strafing" after having played Doom or HL for a while
3. Leaning to the side when i was playing F-Zero in order to get through the turns
4. Finding the Master Sword in A Link To The Past

Edit: Added the G-Man. How could i forget him? Always on a thin line between cheesy and nice, but he's a great storytelling device. Btw i'm totally conscious how nerdy this post is. I sure hope it is, because it took me more than an hour to write it :bashful:

Most rememberal game memory/moment: Spending what seemed like 4 hours beating the final boss in Chrono Trigger. I came to find out that it is actually a really good idea to level up in RPGs. Fighting the final boss 20 levels to weak...makes for a challenge.

Most rememberal game memory/moment:Winning my first round of mortal Kombat against an older kid and then pulling off my first fatality. Scorpion: Sweep distance down down up up low punch. Toasty!

Oh oh. And just kicking ass with sammurai showdown at the bowling alley as well. So many competitions. Fun times.

No no this one is the one that will sit with me.

the first time I saw Virtua Fighter at the bowling Alley. My first 3d game. Was there right when it rolled in and turned on. *tears up*

Imagine this. a crowd of 10 boys ranging in various ages, I was 8. They roll in the booth with the polygon characters, turn it on near the MK machine and we all stayed there and watched every single one of us play. One of the happiest times of my life.
