Hi, some of you may remember me posting about this project a few months ago (or you may not), eitherway were still at it but we could use a few more artists.

We are seeking concept artists and 3d modellers (cinematic/high poly and low poly) to produce some character, environment and creatures for this game =).

Brief description:
Aim
The main aim of this game is going to provide a deeply rich storyline that engulfs the people into the land of Assyria. To provide a technologically advanced spell system and richly detailed environment.

We want to be realistic in our goals, it is therefore a single player game. Our plan is to use Ogre 3d along with bullet physics engine.

What is the game?
We are trying to create a truly new type of game. Our first thought was a fantasy, however we quickly decided that too many had been done. Out second thought was a Shadow Run (fantasy / sci-fi mix). This idea developed and we decided to include some global issues in with the plot.

Where does the game take place?
The world of Assyria is a magical place that has many different types of people. The individual tribes have found there own unique ways to adapt to the environment that they have been in for thousands of years. The world itself is very expansive and has many different environmental areas that help provide to the culture of the different tribes.

What is the main focus?
The basic plot is that there is a futuristic city surrounded by jungle. The city contains a race known as Dremodans (futuristic man), whilst the jungle contains Assyrians (tribes of primitive man).

The two had lived side by side for centuries without any problems until one day the Assyrians people’s holy site was destroyed. The Dremodan people within the city were blamed. A war is waged between the Assyrian people and the Dremodan city. Fighting goes on and almost all of the Assyrian city members die however they severely weaken the Tec cities defences (all die except for a few, including the main character in the few).

It is later found out that the holy site was not destroyed by the Dremodan people, but by a secret underground criminal organisation based below the city. The criminal organisations aim was to weaken the city, using the tribal city so that the criminals could take control of the city. It is then the main characters job to seek revenge on those within the criminal organisation…

The final battle reveals that the criminal leader was the original Tribal leader who had fakes his own death during the previous battle in order to create a new identity, with which he can gain control of the technological city and the jungle surrounding…

What’s different?
This game integrates an extensive story line in with a action based third person perspective. It has a completely unique fighting and spell system.

General Features
Highly detailed world.
Extensive storyline.
Multiple side quests.
Custom fighting and spell system.

Target aim:
Free or commercial - depends if it's any good really

Compensation:
At the end of the project (if we get there) you will be paid royalties based upon money made from the game (if it's commercial that is). However our main aim currently is to create an amazing game, money has very little to do with it.

Technology:
Ogre 3D + Bullet Physics Engine

Talent needed:
Concept artists, programmers and 3d modellers =) (both high poly - for cinematic’s, and low poly for in game)

Team structure:
Designers X2
Concept Artists X aproxx 6
Musician/Composer X1

Anyway that’s the basics, we are looking for 3d modellers, more programmers (experience with ogre preferred) and concept artists to help develop this games design.

We especially could use some archetectural concept artists to help develop the tribal buildings for the game.

Thanks

Sounds interesting. I'd definitely love to team up with you guys!

I'm mostly a concept artist but I'd definitely want to do more if you have some 3D modellers/texturers who wouldn't mind helping me learn...

Anyways, currently, I have a gallery up at:

Very nice work!

We would love to have you on the team!

If you could sign up to http://www.assyria-game.com/Forums/ (I apologise if the forums arn't working when you try... My hosts are playing around with there data base and it seems to be going down quite alot...)

Anyway... I dont know if you would prefer to do creature/ character or building concepts... From your gallery i'm assuming characters and creatures. (although we really could use some decent tribal building concepts so that we can start work on the "starting village" in 3D.)

Anyway it's a jungle setting for the training level (which were working on at the moment) so if you choose to go with creatures then they need to be suited to a jungle enviroment.

Characters need to be tribal style; you can see some completed concepts of tribal people here: http://www.assyria-game.com/ConceptsPages/Concepts1.htm

Anyway if you could sign up to the forums when you get a chance (ie. once my host stops faffing around). I'll then add you to the correct usergroup and give you access to the development part of the forums.

Thanks and welcome to the team - I look folward to working with you =).

Ok an update on progress:
Lexicon entertainment (a retail european publisher has shown interest in the project).
We have added audio support to ogre, we have also added GameMonkey (scripting), next is graphics.
We have begin modelling.
The Main Screen audio has been completed.
Alot of concept art has been completed.

We primarily need enviromental concept artists (who can draw innovative ideas for tribal buildings etc).
