Society of Illustrators Tuesday (and THURSDAY!!!!) Sketch sessions are BACK!!!

howdy all NYCers and those close by.

SoI is starting up a new season of 2-on-2 Jazz Sketch (http://societyillustrators.org/upcoming/321.cms) this Tuesday September 12th.

Come draw the great models and listen to great live jazz.

Every Tuesday $15.00 ($7.50 with student ID)
Every 3rd Thursday of the month $20.00 ($10.00 with student ID) *Thursday's include food

you never know who's gonna show up to draw (Greg Manchess, Dan Dos Santos, Tony Bennett all have come to draw at one point or another). and others in the illustration field (Irene Gallo, Brad Holland, Peter De Seve) come to hang out at the bar and enjoy the music.

EDIT: there are new girls working the door so I can't really get away with the "sneaking", but maybe if you flash your baby blue eyes at them they'll work something out :P

Yea I don't have classes on tuesdays so I'm gonna try to make it a habit.

small appology to everyone. last night was really 1/2-on-1/2 instead of 2-on-2. we had half the staff at the door, half the band (bruce usuall has more people and plays a livelier set - it was somewhat depressing most of the night), half the models (both the models were supposed to be brand new and one just didn't show), and half the crowd.
Usually, with 2 models one is always facing the other side and one is always standing.

But next week should be a lot better. Next week is the Third Thursday in adition to the Tuesday.
Thursday will be $20.00 (10.00 with student ID) but it will also include food.
And Amber Ray, of of the best models we hve is choreographing something crazy with 2 other models. Feathers and burlesque is usually involved. Thursdays are always more fun.

Bowlin - there are plenty of anoying people demanding and expecting things as if they own the place. if you were to lurk in the back not bothering anyone it would be a welcome change :P but you're a buddy so you get special treatment :P lurk all you want.

tonight is the Third Thursday sketch night. food and drawing for $20.00 ($10.00 for students). one of our models, Amber Ray, promissed me that it will be one wild night. Crazy makeup, feathers. leather :P

if Tuesday was any indication of things to come than this promisses to be one wild night.
