ghostmuncher, I don't think that one really fits in here, you were supposed to draw alien barracks gettign checked by the sergeant. correct me if I'm wrong, but did you draw a spaceship? I liek it, but it doesn't really fit in here...

now I'm looking at 5 drawings, fo which 4 have the same principal, aliens in a row getting checked. that's alright, but I'm going to think of something else these days, hope I can find something that stands out... haha

yeah, I think I can see an alien now, a head with light-eyes. is it a head with arms and legs attached to it, without a real body? if so, I think I'm seeing it. if it isn't, I stil can't see it, haha...

here's mine, PS, 90 min. I know it's a very, well, squiddish alien officer,
but I like the way it turned out:bashful:

critiques:

Crustacean - like yours a lot, very loose and good impression of detailed skin-features

dan liimatta - good expression on the officer's face, also like the rest

yoell - I agree on the Abe's Oddyssee-Impression

LadyHydralisk - Congrats on doing something:) like the very marching officer

ghostmuncher - somewhat scary, didn't see it's a giant officer first,
the idea is good but it's not clear enough

Hamsta - really like the idea, shrewd as usual

Aga - the impression of space could be enhanced by adding a little environmental fog,
on your picture they appear to be very close to the officer and therefore small.

Demdike Damn, that is one ugly mofo. good job, but maybe a bit too much work on the sergeant, and not enough on the rookies? they seem more like geography.
Also... seems static, maybe some ambient effects would be nice, a few bubbles, sand being disturbed or something.

Thanks a lot everybody, I just couldn't find a way to quickly add more detail
to the troops and since I didn't want to spend all night on it I focused on
the officer, since he turned out quite nice.

thx for a comment demdike, yeah the whole pict is equally sharp, and some blur could work fine, but the soldiers are so small because thye are so small and the sergant walk among the companies.
On yours, the troops look to me like some alien underwather flora
and about the sergant - you did cool design of him
