Hi everyone,
I'm only just beginning to learn about color and painting with photoshop, so I can use any comments you could give me :)

As you can easily see, there's no left foot and no left hand, and the bow tie (is this the right word? ) will be redone, as will the right foot of monkey on top.
I'm not too fond about the background, but I'm not sure what else to do...

Story (well, sort of):
He's the Master of the Monkeys, touring through towns and villages with his band of trained monkeys. A Mixture between a fine english gentleman and the slippery caricature of a Gypsie, he's not only entertained countless of farmers and villagers, but also "gathered" quite a fortune. The money is almost immediatly invested in spirits and excellent and fashionable clothing, at least so he thinks...

so much for this, thanks in advance

I have worked a bit further and fixed both the monkey's right leg an the mans left foot and leg.
I worked on the highlights too, but I fear I have overdone it a bit, especially on the siut. ON the positive side, I'm much happier with the blending between foreground and background now, but still not satisfied...

Well, that's all for now, crits & Comments are greatly appreciated!

Hey this piece is really nice. I especially like the sketches of the monkeys, they have great character. I like how you fixed his leg in the latest version, it looks much better.

With the eyes closed, the character seems more natural in his pose. Make a decision with your primary light source and stick to it. The tail of the monkey, chair and his left leg share one, while the trailer, hat, and right leg share another. Last, his right foot is out of perspective. It really is an awsome start, I can't wait to see where you bring it. Keep it up!

Your sketch is awesome, but I'm not digging the colored version so much. I dunno, the sketch seemed to have a lot more life to it - I especially love the monkey sleeping in his lap.

For the colored version, there's something...off about it. Too saturated, maybe. Especially his suit, which seems very flat and fake to me. I really like the way his face looks in the second version though - it's got a neat sort of sleek, cartoon-realism thing going on that works very well for such a strange picture.
