This is a four year old Saddlebred owned by and acquaintance of my Mom. He wanted her painted, so we went out to take photos of her, and this is what I've done. Painter in Painter 8.

I was trying to make this more of a painting, and not a mindless photo copy. I think with more practice, I would get better at that.

I dunno, it is a beautiful rendering but I don't think you can quite call it a painting. You handled everything very well, I love the greens and greys in the face, and I like the background too but cripes is this overpainted.
Its a good overpainting (if there is such a thing) but it just leaves a sour taste in my mouth. You got the job done and did it well. the person that you did the project for never know but still. Don't get me wrong, I have always been a fan of your stuff, just don't dilute your work by wandering down this path.

wow!
I would like it a bit more "dirty", but i´ve to say that there´s an amazing job. You got a perfect focus.

Thanks you all. Truthfully, I am in a complete artistic rut for a month now. Not even the spark of desire to draw. I did this more to keep myself working on something until I feel like drawing again.
.PZ.: Yeah, I know it turned out overpainted. My first try with this I had a hard time breaking away from the photo. Plus, the original deminsions are HUGE so it was easy to add small details.
