Hey all, here's a new (hopetogodfinished) image. I posted over at critique center, but I thought I'd send it in here, too :)

Enjoy, and thanks to everyone for their comments. Sorry if some of the suggestions didn't sit with me -- I tried, I swear! <3 It doesn't mean I don't take every single crit to heart, I appreciate all the help you guys here at CA have given me.

I like this piece a lot. Very imaginative!! The only crit I can see is on the metal thing you have in the foreground (not sure what to call it) you have the blue energy specles floating in front of it. I think it would look better if the blue energy stuff were behid it. I think if it were behind it ,it would really give the viewer more of a sence that the green metal thing is coming right out at you. other than that I likes!

truth be told, i see work like this (I assume it's Painter) and it really makes me want to be a better artist.

i love the blues and green tones, and i think the changes you made were quite restrained and appropriate.

I like everything about this except for the blur on the foremost sets of "feathers". I understand what and why you were trying, but it's jarring compared to the overall painterly handling of the rest.

I really like this piece! only thing I'd wish to see would be the rest of the guy's body (hips, legs) but I guess it was intended to keep it hidden (or maybe he had none ;))
anyways, I dig it, especially face and the water swirl
cheers

Deomonte21: That's a good point, I'll look into that :)

J_absinthe: Thank you :)

Elwell: It's a real treat hearing that from you. I've gotten a lot of the same crit, but I'll go over it again and post the other version with a few touch-ups to see how you guys like it, okay?

Kais: Thanks! The body is meant to be lost, yes :)

Infinit :) Thank you!

Now we're talkin'!
If I might make one more small suggestion, if the glow in the mouth were played up just a tiny bit it would help keep the main focus on the upper part.

Played up....so you mean, brighter? Some small hint of white perhaps at the core?

Hehe thats pretty awsome, my only crit is its hard to make out the head and that his mouth is wide open at first. The whole atmosphere of the picture is really nice though.

I love the different composition and the sense of scale from the tiny boat, beautiful work! My only crit is that my monitor is too small to view the whole thing. ;)

yup,
could you post a smaller version also so the whole composition can be viewed w/o scrolling?

Firefox (http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/).
Automatically scales images to fit when you open them in their own window.

netscape does this too, though the pixels sometimes look a little rough in the rescaled image

Thanks everyone, I'm glad you liked it :)
Sorry if it is a little big but, it would constrain some of the details to make it any smaller.
<3 Love you all!
