Stupid Painter 7 problem...

For some reason in painter 7, When I make a new layer and set it to multiply (or any setting for that matter), I wont let me paint on it. I can paint on the origional layer however.
Does anyone know what I did?

Hi,

Don't know what you may have done, but here are a couple of suggestions:

1. When you create a New Layer, be sure the Preserve Transparency box at the top of the Objects palette's Layers section is not checked.

2. You may be attempting to paint with a brush variant that will only paint on existing color, such as on the Canvas or on a Layer that already has color on it.

Good luck, and if these suggestions don't help, be more specific as to the brush variant, any setting adjustments you may have made to it, etc.
