hi!
here is my first work, painting without drawline.:^^;:
i'm just a beat blocked, don't know how give it more...life.
it look a beat flat.

from what it looks like, it seems to be a water creature and most water creature has shiny skin or scales. give the creature some shine :)

the light seems to come from different sources
if this is to take place under water the light is very special
get some ref pics from dolphins or such to look at how it effects the skin
the BG is very similar to the rest so you can give more attention to the creature altering it

I like a lot of what's going on, but in the second one, it looks like he has a drop shadow, making it seem like he's next to the pool wall.

I really enjoy the water and the use of color scheme in this. I do suggest though more of a wetter look as mentioned before.
Some more contrast would be nice too... more lighter and darker blues? Something of that sort.

yep, the back need more attention.
juste to note, the darker zone under the creature was to "simulate" the shadow, you know, like the raylight mades in water, but it was just the estimate what it could seam.
for the wetter aspect, i'm thinking about it to know how to make it...
hum, sorry for my aproximated english.
