in painter IX, i'd like a brush that works like the solid jagged brushes in the old microsoft paint program, or like painter's 1-pixel Pen. except the 1-pixel is just '1 pixel' and seems to become dotted the bigger the brush size. is there a solution to this, or a brush in painter that draws like the 1-pixel but can become bigger like normal?
thanks in advance.

Hi tov7,

Are you looking for a simple cover, retro effect like the one below?;

If so, you can download the brush library used to create the above here. (http://homepage.ntlworld.com/david.gell/dload_files/ap_dl_folder.zip)

The brush is based on a square captured dab, but in order to show an unbroken line, the minimum spacing has to be adjusted for each size (hence several sizes included in the library).

You can use the variants as a single dab dotter, freehand, in straight line mode (used for the border and diagonal line), and also in Align to path mode.

The brushes will work in Painter 7 and above, and hopefully, you will not need to readjust the minimum spacing values. If you need to however, just re-save the variant using the same name after making the adjustment.
