I don't consider my my music taste to divergent, other people do :p
so If you think you have the most embracing taste in music,
POST YOU GENRES HERE! and if you like; the artists you consider the most representative for that style/genre
here are mine
metal(metalcore,numetal,hardcore,melodic-metal etc)
Indie: (mostly DCFC, José gonzales)
electro(quite alot) (the postal service if that counts, though its more a combo electro-indie)
dance
D&B
some house
classic music
movie scores (mostly history of fantasy setted movies)
finalfantasy/nobuo uematsu
70s rock, easy listening
rock, altenative rock, etc...
j-pop/rock
this is what first pops Into my mind, probably have a lot more
ps: mod's if this is just a bad topic, remove it without mercy, that is all

This is either a hit or miss, Sufjan Stevens is an indie folk singer who got the number one rated album in Metacritic for 2005 and one of the best albums in Amazon for 2005... So far, his second-to-last album, Illinois, is IMO his best:

Sorry, this sounds like a recommendation post... :P

Sufjan Stevens is definitly a hit or miss. I love them, along with The Arcade Fire and Neutral Milk Hotel. Those bands seem to fit together well.
I know a lot of "indie" type bands as they're called. I'm not to sure on how to classify music, I just enjoy finding new bands.
