Yes. Really liked all of those. I'd add Garden State + Matchstick Men / Tricks to the bunch. Just wondering, what would be the "genre" of those? Any recommendations of this kind?

I like pretty much every movie that is well made, and a good couple of movies that you might consider bad. As long as a movie isn't just made to please, like a lot of tv productions and really major Hollywood productions are, it usually has something to offer for me. Kind of a leaning towards action - i'll accept more bad movies of that genre - and a dislike for dumb romantic comedy, but thats probably to be expected since i'm a guy and all that.

I guess they can all be considered intelligent romantic comedy/dramas. They all pretty much have those elements, and balance them out mostly between the drama and the comedy.

To be honest I would much rather watch most romantic comedies over shitty action movies. Just because you're a guy doesn't mean you have to enjoy action flicks. There's a bunch of action movies that came out lately that I know for a fact I will never make myself see.

Noirs are good... It's pretty much the only true art movement in films that originated in America...
;)

And I maybe in the minority, but I vastly prefer the works of Paul Thomas Anderson over Wes Anderson's...

Same here... Although most rom coms are usually a hit or miss with me... But overall, I prefer films that invest on a huge payoff rather than bombarding you with action scenes here and there...

Hm no, being a guy doesn't mean you have to watch action stuff :P It's just what i tend to watch most often with my friends and my brother. I try to put a good distance between myself and Steven Seagal / Van Damme movies though :$
