Thought I would start by showing two character designs, one I would imagine for something Resident Evilish, and another for a more stylized beatem' up.
Crits, paintovers and chocolate welcomed.

The work on both of them is solid - nothing overly detailed but also easy from a modeller to work from, so you've done your job in that respect. My issue with these two chars is that there is nothing interesting or special about them at all, they're both as generic as can possibly be given the two genres you mentioned.

If you were going for a "game" character concept, the sihouettes are very weak. Having a strong silhouette (outlining shape) will make the characters memorable and stand out within a 3D space. Start off with slightly overexaggerating some of the features of the character that uniquely defines him as a seperate entity. Also, your colors a washed out and flat. Try cooling down your shadows and warming up your highlights.
