hello

My name is Lee and as you probably can tell by my nickname that I am older than most here, if not all. I am 40 years old and in the midst of attempting to make a career change. I have worked in the food service industry for over 20 years and the stress is getting to me. Currently unemployed and enrolled in a college majoring in computer information systems.

I was surfing the internet one day when I came across this forum, view the various threads and was amazed at all the talent. This renewed my interest in art and decided to have a go at it again. I drew from the time I was around 5 years old until I was sixteen or seventeen when I stopped. I have never taken any art courses, so I do not have any knowledge in any other medium except graphite.

Welcome aboard, Lee! I can't say I'm stoked about the user name, though. People might start thinking I'm old.

Looking forward to seeing your work.

OldNoob,

I sympathize (or empathize, whatever is the correct term) with your situation. I'm sorta in the same boat...just got stressed out sooner.

Check out the link tie posted. It was the first post that brought me over to CA as a long time lurker and it is "hella inspiring" (which has about 2.7 times more vitamins than regular "inspiring"). I think it is also a good indication of the kind of help you will get here- very useful crits. They have helped me in a big way from the sidelines.

I just started posting here last week and posting my sketchbook has given me more motivation to draw.

Seeya in the sketchbook forum, eh?

corky: thanks .. been doodling .. trying to find my pencil control

Mr. man: <shrug> dunno

LateNite: yes that was a great thread .. I've been lurking around here for about a month now looking all the threads .. will start a sketchbook thread when the right side of my brain decides to play nice again, think it's upset that I ignored it for so long.
