this is good, you are too funny and well, i miss my wife!
on a critical note, i would like to have seen you push the mignola influence more on the female. it is a learning exercise so push further. we all learn from copying at one stage or another and mimicry can help speed up the learning processes.
you are a busy and talented man cyril.

Tommy: thanks, no story here, so yeah, mainly gfx.
Jon: hey, thanks man. That's funny you should mention that. I was afraid to copy Mignola too much have thus lose my personal touch to it. Originally, I did not want to copy him, but to obviously use his influence as a platform for exercising a borrowed style. But, I do see your point. In fact, mimicking the Masters (whoever one thinks those might be) is an accepted way of getting useful experience, so next time, I shall do just that.
For now, though, I will put this one on hold and continue to be making more pieces for the portfolio I will be presenting at Comicon. 45 days left, I wish I didn't have to sleep! Not enough time...
and YOU, sir, are a busy and even more talented man.
Cyril.
PS: yeah, I miss my wife too...:chug:

very nice. The mignola influence is showing, but not so radical that I would have thought of it without you first mentioning it.
It's a delicate matter, and I have felt harsh remarks about my style from time to time - being very influenced by Mignola. I understand the thinking behind their remarks - that we should strive for orginality... but... As I see it originality comes after influence. At least often it does...
It lightens my heart to read Jon's reply. At least I'm not alone... :)
Good job, and gl at the comiccon! :chug:
