I'm sorry I missed the classic game character redesign during my move from school. I'll try and do a couple for fun.
What I'm wondering is what the next one will be and just as importantly, what everyone esle thinks it SHOULD be.
So, please reply.

ID like to see a "post apocalypse" theme for it..
Mad Max
Fallout/wasteland
full throttle
That kind of stuff always inspires me and I think its one of the coolest genres for games/movies/books because it is much different than most of the stuff you see..

...except for the last contest all contests in the thunderdome were related to the post-apocalyptic theme...

When I was in school, one of my instructors gave us a really cool project that might work well. He had 4 titles for a movie/tv show and we had to come up with a 6-8 panel storyboard for the teaser. You have to come up with the concept of the story the title is for and that is the basis of the art for the teaser. 6 other people had the same title I did and not one of our stories were similar.
Just a thought.

i would like to see a design of an ENVIRONMENT or PROP(s) or VEHICLE(S). front and rear 3/4s of course. Concept design isnt just characters like all the previous contests have been.

Vote goes to Environments/Vehicles. Something you need a ruler for.

I meant Id like to see more post apocalyptic art in them. sorry for not making that clear..
Alot of the art Ive seen in the past thunderdomes wouldnt really be considered post apocalyptic.. Some people did great jobs of it, but some of the entries just didnt give that feeling.. Alot of it came off a bit more Sci-Fi than PA...

:(
I was running on like 2 hours of sleep when i posted that..
I jsut meant that from the previous T-Domes alot of the entries werent really PA related.. They looked more like Sci-Fi entries.. Id really like to see one that gets back to the basics of the PA genre..

isn't post-apocaplyse considered part of science-fiction? for instance, planet of the apes can be considered post apocaplyse (it did happen after a certain apocaplytical event). sounds like you're thinking more about "rusty" tech...
why don't we get this thread on track. i think jason said the next thunderdome will be environment related. correct me if i'm wrong.

no no i like the post apocalyptic thang--but i think we should move more towards a "real-life" scenario. like what if we all had to re-design a baby nursery of a post apocalyptic family? and dont forget people--the baby was born into a flaming hell hole of a toxic pesticide filled reality--so hed probably have red eyes .. and a menacing grimace...
and a big gun
although this idea is too much like the last one i think it would be cool to redesign your favorite comic book character-
everyones interpretations would be fun fun funny fun

SCi-Fi is high technology. Space Age, etc..
Post Apocalyptic is in my opinion, a genre after technology has failed us (ie- after a nuclear war, after natural disaster on a major scale)
Where the worldis left as a primitive world wiht bits of technology (like the cars and guns in mad max, etc)
Kind of a mix between sci fi and traditional fantasy..
The name Post-Apocalypse means "After Total Devastation" (if you rule out religous terms)
Alot of people just think that it is sci fi or "rusty sci fi" like someone said..
I think that either environment design or vehicle design would be a good choice. I just wish people would understand the meaning of the PA genre..

What about a thunderdome with old school combatants? Like swordsman spearman. Redesigns could pull from Three Kingdoms or Warcraft or Final Fantasy's (some of them)

maybe it could be environment/vehicle designs for a race of non-humanoid beings.
just a thought...
