That is an excellent design, so full of character. Can't see anything wrong with it except that i really want to see it finished.

Thanks for the comments. I am working on a stupid project for the summer. and this is one of the Goons i am working on. I am doing the sketches up and then going to build them in 3D. I am sort of making my own little 3d world and things for a summer practice project thingy...

I will post more later.

Hey, that is rockin'! I like it. The only thing I can see is the sharp horn. Is it attached to his face or is it on the other shoulder pad? Other than that, keep it up, I like the coloring too.

I think i prefer the sketched version with the staff, or polearm of some sort, as it balanced him. The design is very top heavy and that weight is all located far enough in front of his feet that if he were alive he would probably tip over. His tail doesnt seem to have enough bulk to act as a counterbalance. Now this concern isnt a big once, since he can easily just use his giant arms like a gorilla would to stabilize him when standing and walking like that, and this scene would just be one of the periods in which he has taken his arms off the ground to look menacing. As such it doesnt really hurt the picture, because it still looks awesome. Its just something to note about the character.

very cool feedback man. Thanks ETP.

yeah i do agree. Heh.. the picture started because i was playing Zelda: WindWaker for the game cube and saw those funky goblin guys with the lanterns at the beginning...

I was going to just do a cartooney version and leave it at that. but i ended up colouring him.

I still may put a staff in for the 3D model though. I was going to do that before but then i thought. why would a guy with a reallly big horn on his head need a staff??

Your right though, if he was real, his upperbody would snap his own spine ;)

one question. the horn sticking out of his shoulder pad. is that a rhino horn? and if so, did he kill the one he plucked it from?

nice stuff.

It is a rhino horn. My idea for these guys is that they take trophies from thier challenges. And challenges are to the death. This one poor guy lost his horn.

anways.. i think i am almost done. here is the latest. i think its starting to look like its not really progressing.

still awesome. i like to know the stories about things like that. that's why i asked.

i like the way things are going there on the chin. the dry cracked skin.. dunno.. maybe that'd look good on the feet. afterall, does he walk on his chin or feet?

chip the nails on the feet too. that'll be nice.
