This one took me far too long, 8 cups of cofee and enough nicotine to kill a small elephant.
Crits and comments would be appreciated.

Made in painter7 with my favourite mouse.
(updated with a more finished version, my mistake, sorry)

i think the angle of the horizon line is way too skewed--i feel like im falling over--not fun
also the negative space under the sword is not doing anyhting for the piece--its just dead space
the clouds/smoke in BG are really nice--although maybe a little flat

I agree completely about the black space below the sword. It doesnt add anything to the piece, and feels like a cop-out. Crop the pic a bit, or find a simple use for the space that doesnt detract from the character and skewed horizon.
As for the background, i enjoy the disorientation of it. Between that and the design of the mask it feels very surreal, like a dangerous dream world.

Thanks for the crits.
I see what you guys meen about the dead space below the character, its just a big dark blob, but it looked great in my eyes when i was working with the pic last night. A case of artist blindness i suppose.
The background was the most enjoyable bit to paint in this pic, so im glad you liked it (or made you sick).
Thanks again. :)
