Very nice m8! I like the lighting and mood, especially in the last one! I don't really know what to crit!

these are nice, the only thing i can think of is that some of your strokes seem kind of distracting. like the shadows cast in the second one. maybe go in and tighten some of the strokes.
otherwise cool.

i think the third works the best
some quick pointers:
1st - make sure you separate your values more cause if you blur your eyes, everything seems to blend together and the focus gets lost. Having spotty light here and there doesnt help too much either.
2nd- tone down the light hitting the FG elements, again, they make things very spotty..you have two light sources that are competing (from the bottom and left)- make sure one is more dominant, and play with more colors, its a bit muddy at this point as if you turned down the contrast...
3rd- best one in my opinion - you really get a feel for the place - but again, you need some subtle colors even though its night..and I would spend more time defining the shape of the tree in the FG - or at least the rope (?) hanging from the tree - right now it looks like messy brush stroke as mentioned by van.bot
important thing is you have nice composition and mood which is most of the work, now you just need some fine tuning with value and color...easier said than done I know :)

I really like the settings, and the only thing I'm wishing for is more definition in some of the lines. Also, some of the textures, most especially those in the thick lines that come out from the right side over the water in image 3 (I think it's water) really don't mesh well.
More specifically, in:
#1 just define some of the shapes a bit more
#2 watch your angle of light on the cast shadows of the people. They have a tendency to go in different directions.
#3 While the lights themselves are not too bright, they are still the brightest points in the painting. I really think the image's completion would benefit from creating some fainter light trails in the water - Not just reflective points, but having the light refract off of the closest waves in the water directly below the lights themselves - and with the brightest glints appearing on the waves' crests.
#4 is the most successful of the 4, I think. Now turn it into colour! :) Nice architectural style.

your line work is very good, your colours could use some toneing/strengthening up but that'll all come in time. Keep it up!

Last one is my favorite by far. great mood and composition. the submarine for your thesis looks very rushed. with tight linework like that it would be nice to see a tight paintover. possibly just add more highlights...ditch that background and erase any overspray areas. also you could add some relfected light coming from the bottom...some cool blues possibly emulating water. good luck !

Like your mood settings. the last one is my fav. If I had one crit, its on your thesis, it doesnt look to me, like the ortho's line up correctly. If you draw a line straight from the top view to the side view, some (not all) of the mechanism arent in line. How much that affects your thesis, time will tell. But I like the design a bunch.

Really enjoy the swamp concept - great pallete and lighting.
Do you think the painted frame is really necessary?
The mood of your quick Tiemens study is really effective however I think the water could do with more work. If there was a greater change in the tone and detail in the sea as it recedes would create more depth in the picture.
Thanks for posting!

Hey Dg,
I really like these, really awesome colour pallete.
One crit would be to avoid using solid black if possible, it really kills the life and fights for the viewers attention.
keep it up.
