We need to have the images uploaded directly to the site. IMG tags end up as red x eventually which ruins the quality of the forums archives. Also, attachments get thumbnails.

the images I attached in my sb aren't showing up when I browse the thread, they're just links... I'm assuming this is temporary till you guys finish the mad cool updates....
right?

if we have multiple files, would it be okay to just attach one for the thumbnail and keep the rest on our own servers?

Does every attachment have to turn into a thumbnail that I have to click on to see? It's nice to see art on the same page as the comments, as opposed to pop-up windows with all that white space. I doubt many people would've opened and closed 271 pop-up windows to see the thunderdome images. The thread previews are perfect, though. If you're still working on all of this, then nevermind. :) Thanks again for the new goodies!

edit:yay it's fixed, gg all!

I'm on a 1280-pixel display and I can't see CRAP in the thumbnails because they are so small. I don't like the thread-preview either, makes the site go even bigger and the forum-view loads longer. Well...

i will simply disable IMG tagging if people dont do it. I grow weary of finding awesome old threads with no images in them. we are creating the best digital art archive ever...ever ever....and no images means we waste time doing so. please use the attachments.

the attachement files will load as whole files shortly. We are still working on the features.

Great job on he evolution of the forum features, thanks a lot. The thumbnail system is awesome :)

Though I think it should be up to the artist to choose if he wants his work to stay as attachments on a server or not.

In the user control panel, under options, you can turn thumbnails on or off

Finally CA got that thumbnail feature! It's really hard to browse art without visuals so these thumbs helps a lot. Thanks Jason!

maybe i'm behind the power curve, it's not okay for me to link to my photobucket images anymore? I'm also a little tech retarded, so maybe somebody could explain to me in detail the preferred method? thanks

Must we upload EVERYTHING to the CA servers? Can you leave IMG tags on for the Sketchbook section? I doubt you'll be wanting to archive all my sketchy shite.

Ok...I'll admit..im not the brightest bulb in the batch.
I'm using the attachment manager at my SB.
Upload and include the images, yet when I post them up, I get little beige squares where the images should be.
Any help would greatly appreciated.

Same here for me. could anyone write a brief bullet-point thingy on how to get a picture on the "gallery" part of the "my page" section?

It would be greatly apreciated.

Am I doing something wrong? So far all I see is a thumbnail of my attached image. Is there something else I need to do or will the full size image magically appear later?

i've attached work on other parts of the site, but have been hesitant to do so with my sketchbook because i want to add titles, descriptions, formatting, clickable stuff, etc. the paperclip function doesn't seem to work correctly; somehow i just can't get the attachment ƒ to work the right way. i'll keep trying.

and besides + beyond that... it seems like there should be some kind of V-bulletin utility that a user could run occasionally to "save thread images" or something like that... what i'm envisioning would both preserve the locations within posts and backup the image files (that is, if they're not already all uploaded to the site) for archiving's sake. I realize of course that this kind of thing is probably kind of a long shot, but computers do such things much better than people can or have the patience to attempt.

thanks for listening and again for the generous storage option!

Yeah, attached images aren't working properly for me either.

I get a empty thumbnail, but it does show the full image when clicked.

Is the thumbnailing just broken right now?

Well I haven't a clue what this 'attachment' thingy is at all, or what I'm meant to do to put a picture on this site now, so I just used the old img tag anyway....

yes a "Please explain how" post/sticky would be useful

cheers

Is using the attachment manager a request for the Finally Finished section, or is this something you want to happen in all sections? That just seems like an awful lot of files to take on.
