This is only the second time I've ever touched marker to paper... Draw up your own conclusions on what you think.

I'm actually a 3d artist... but trying to get into hand-drawn stuff as well. Experience is never a bad thing!

if that pipe is going off in the distance you need to pin down where your vanishing point is. you say you're a 3d artist, so am i, you know when yourre in perspective mode in like 3dmax, you have a vanishing point and all objects follow suit acording to where the vanishing point is. do the same thing here. find that point and everything that is going back in space should follow that point. hell, i just made this sound a lot more complex than it is.... you can have several vanishing points in a scene, but i'd just start with one just so you get the concept. bust out a ruler and a straight edge, there's no shame in being presice.

You need to add some functionality to the pillars holding the pipe. It doesnt look solid like it would hold together, I imagine that thing sliding right off, it looks weak and has no mass or weight as well.

That's the thing about making concepts, you need to try to make the unbelievable believable. sometimes there are little elements that can make objects look like they function, what that is, is up to you. Look at photos and see how things work and fit together, then make it up from there.
