Your stuff's got a real storybook quality to it. Those pandas are especially nice.

Love the pandas and I really like the side view porteait of the gorilla - I wonder what's going through his mind, definitely deep in thought.

I know what you mean about drawing from the mind and coming up with monsters - I can't ever sit down and imagine a nice normal person. Obviously insane :)

Yeah the pandas are great! Not only because of their cuteness, but because your lines are so much looser and confident in that one.
Keep it up!

I like the animal sketches, they have lots of good movement.

On this monster face his left cheek is flat because you didn't let it overlap the edge of the mouth. From that angle it would pooch out a bit and overlap shapes next to it. Kinda' like this.

Lots of really fun animal drawings, you make them seem easy. I know better though, however you seem to get things right. My only crit would be a encouragement towards more personal drawings. I see some things from your imagination, keep at those. Or try and draw some character into your animals. think about its mood and specific traits. anyway keep going!

Hey Sawa,
You have great sketchbook yourself. I like you pen/ink/Painting work. You seem more confident working with pen and painting. I would like to see you work with pen/ink for a while and let go of the pencils. Pen forces you to make a decision and stick with it. Pencils is too sketch/scratch/wishy washy if you don't have a strong foundation in line work. Draw from life (Reportage).
Find somewhere where people are in crowds and draw them. Draw 100 people in ink. Another think is - don't draw over a line once it is down - leave it and move on - mistakes only help your picture to portrait your honest signature (so let them help you). Don't worry about making things look perfect - just draw and don't crit you work until it is finished. Finish the drawing (fill the page)
Check out these links for reference (this is my mentor - training me to become a Jedi):

Dawood Marion thx man i really appreciate you giving such a detailed advice :)
you really got a point there, i tried out drawing with a pen today and i see that there are loads of things i can advance. i took some pictures for reference and tried to draw them without drawing over the lines again and again. somes didnt turn out as bad as i thought but i distorted others. i'll try to work more with pen/ink now on to fix these mistakes i use to do :) thx again for the advice mate

i really like your animal sketches. they look very solid and accurate.
and that knowledge also shows in your creature sketches - good work.

there are also some ideas i really like, for example, the one with the legs
standing ,overpropotionally big, in the forest. nice colouring as well. i dig
the "infinite creativity" a lot. i would actually like that as a wallpaper ;)
there's a lot of good work going on in here, too much to mention them
individually. i say, just keep on rocking! :D

but since your drawing is pretty solid, i'd start with more dynamic stuff.
expressive poses, more extreme perspectives --> foreshortening.
mmm. and maybe some more structured concept design if you feel like
it. for example studying clothes, hair or what-have-you.

and one last thing.
es ist immer schön, leute aus deutschland hier zu sehen ;)

chiodo thx a lot :D of course you can take the infinite creativity one as wallpaper if u want to ;)
i'll try to take your advice and try some new stuff. i already did some extreme perspectives on that oil lamp and its really hard to get it look right. i'll work on that :)

here's some stuff from today. i'm not really happy with it though... :/ both faces look somehow off imo. some crits or advices would be great :)

Die fallschirmspringer rulen derbst.....das erinnert mich an eine news Sendung, wo sie über Kriegsdienstabsolventen berichtet hatten, wo die Soldaten Tests zu bestehen hatten, damit sie Fallschirmspringer werden konnten....sie habs dann geschafft:}

the faces are comming off a little smushy. the distortion is probbably because you jumped straight into rendering without much thought to constructing the face.
just take a moment to plan when doing a face. it will help a lot. you can work up your thoughts right on the page. nobody is going to care if your pencil rendering is clean if the construction isnt correct undernieth. arts about making a mess anyways.
the landscape is a little oversaturated and flat. use more layers to build up space and depth. using a soft brush set to opacity can be great for creating lighting

VERY realistic, great rendering (http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b260/sawart/drawing.jpg)
great realistic colors, nice postitioning (http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b260/sawart/bild268.jpg)
great hands, very realistic (http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b260/sawart/bild137.jpg)

You got some nice creature designs going on in here mate, they are very readable. Your coloring is very well done as well, very nice palettes, especially on post #82.

Besides of what mono2k5 suggest, I know that environments are hard to do, sometimes look boring, but it will help you to go all the way in one of them. Also if it gets too boring painting, add something yours to it, just a suggestion :) Keep it up!

CouchPotato
September 17th, 2007, 09:56 PM
I really dig the crocodile head sawa, you really managed to bring out the texture! Hmm, I've been trying my hand at painting as well, but doesn't seem to have much success..You got any tips you might want to share? heheh

Maestro Andres
September 17th, 2007, 10:34 PM
I am a fan of the crocodile head too :). The overall texture is nicely done, my only suggestion with that, is that the tongue looks to simple compare to the rest of the painting. You could add a humble texture to it to fit more with the rest of the painting. Thanks for showing the steps, very insightful!

Your last environment has some nice things going with it. Good job with the grass. The only that keeps bothering me is that you light source doesn't seem consistent. At first glance the light seems to come from the right of the pic, but your dark walls are way too dark for that if the light comes from the right. Plus with the shadow area, at least in my monitor it looks all the same black :S which kinda flattens that side. Some gradient of dark will change that. I imagine the wall near us lighter then the one farther in the shadow area.

Hopefully that makes sense and is not that harsh :P

Maestro hm you might be right about the tongue :) thx. hehe its nice sb found the step-by-step useful.
concerning the enviro, it cant be because of the light source though, i had a ref picture for it so i guess the walls really are too dark... they were lighter in the actual painting and i dakened them later on. maybe i overdid it ;)

Your animals are always nice to see. You achieve to put them that comedic character into them. I was going to suggest you to try some of these activities around CA, like the stylized animal of the month or go hardcore with the #100 C.O.W! :D Sometimes those activities motivates you that much to be productive and help you learn a thing or two.

Nice update! Always like your creatures, and this one really crack me up :).
Like your "vision" piece, it really stretches out the idea and great use of warm/colors to provide the visual flow. The eagle women look interesting too. I would like to know a little bit of the story behind the piece to understand what the eagle women and ghost represent. Oh yeah, which medium is this?

In any case, look forward for the close ups and congrats for completing such a big piece.

P.D: I doubt about the COW, senior year is going to become hell in the next weeks :P Best of luck to you!

thanks for everyone who voted and commented here :) you guys are a great motivation! :D

Maestro that eagle women are supposed to be harpys, some death-spirits from greek mythology. the guy on the top gets older along the pic goes more to the bottom.. kinda like a time-line. tried to symbolize all the death stuff etc a bit with the ghosts and harpys ;) i guess i'll have to make this up a bit more detailed for the teacher though :/ oh and the medium is everything that was lying around! i started with pencil and watercolors, then ink, colored pencils and some acrylic ;)

AmontilladoAg, 28, mono thx guys :) nice to c u like all the animals and creature stuff, theyr really fun :D

i guess i wont update that much the next time since the COW will keep me busy and i'll have loads of examinations and other stuff at school :/

Sawa, nice description of your big piece, now EVERYTHING finally makes sense! hehehe j/k. That sound very original and hardcore about using everything that was around, it will be awesome if that included some crayons :D

Like the armor design in that last piece. Not sure about the anatomy, can't tell if there is anything wrong. Nevertheless, I see somebody is afraid of painting hands ;) (and I have been spending an hour drawing some while writing this). I think that they would make the piece feel more complete. Also because of what I learned with figures, people first look at the face and then at the hands, something that is intuitive I guess. Well, just keep in mind for the next ones.

And good job with the COW progress, only 5 days and you are almost 25% done. Can't wait to see your finished work!

Like your pencil rendering as always. The stylized animal is looking good. That texture you are using for the shell is working well. The only thing that is kinda confusing me right now is that when I look at his face and at the pose, I get the sense he is swinging his tail toward us, but the tail looks very straight and firm right now. You could add a little bit of bend to it to suggest a curve or modify the expression. That's my impression so far, sorry if it sounds picky :P

Thanks for posting the steps for it as well, and keep it up with the COW, you are having a good progress so far :D

Great update. Always like how you give your animals that comedic and live feeling to them :D

The last two are of my liking. Did you use ref? Life drawing maybe? The muscles of the back of the male one are nicely depicted. I think that even if the right buttock is contracted, is looks way smaller than the left. On the women, I get the impression that the legs looks kinda short or it doesn't have the righ head/body proportion, I am really doubtful about that though...

The colors work well in them. I think I see some blue in the shadows, is that right? Because it gives a nice contrast with that nice orange you are using. The white highlights gives a metallic feeling which I am really enjoying.

Other than that, keep updating. It has been fun so far. :D

maestro hey man :) i used ref for the figure drawings, one is from hogarth and the other i dont remember lol. about the woman ive got the same feeling, the porportions are somehow off, but i didnt figure out whats wrong yet...
oh and theres actually no blue in the shadows, that must happened while i increased the contrast or whatever cuz the photos were even worse before i edited them digitally lols... however, thx for commenting again :)

You have a lot of nice stuff in here, I love those hands on the previous page. I like the design of this last creature, but i think you would be much better off without the outline; it really flattens it out. Also there is tangent where his back leg meets his tail. By just making the leg overlap the tail a little it will help a lot. Keep up the anatomy studies. :teeth:

CouchPotato
October 22nd, 2007, 08:54 AM
Hmmmm, would I be correct in saying that you draw your base drawing in paper, and scanned it in to color in photoshop sawa? It also seems as if you don't care if you brush out of the drawing. You erase the color bits that are outside the drawing later?

I really want to upload more paintings, but I haven't quite had the time to do much lately. I have to travel a really long distance to work everyday lol, about 4 hours or so, back and forth. Too many things crowding on my schedule lol (daily drawing, dimagyan's assignments, 3D modelling, painting).

Anyhow, the contract's almost over (4 or 5 more months) and after that I'll really be looking forward to taking maybe 3 or 4 months off just to work on all that good art stuff lol.

Sawa, your new dinosaur turn out nicely. What's the name of this species? I find the head shape very interesting, like a helmet hehe

My only suggestion, and this might sound picky is that with the tail, it's end reads kinda flat in comparison to the area next to the body. Like now, I can't tell if the end of the tail is lifted up or recedes further in the BG.

Nice colors and textures by the way :D

Probably will sound old, but your sketches are so fresh everytime. Hope that your COW has the same freshness as well :P

The Zbrush one is interesting, did you paintover that in Photoshop or Painter? Or do you paint it directly in Zbrush? Just wondering, because FYI you can do that in ZBrush, it is a nice thing though is not like photoshop. Don't want to sound like a parent, but don't abuse too much those methods since it is nice to do get work done quick, you won't get too much out of paintovers. Don't fall into the darkside......... ;)

Hey, your CHOW piece is just amazing!!! Really like your shapes and designs. So proud of you buddy!!! And you finish it days before the deadline. I swear I could stare at this for hours, hope you do well on the contest :)

About the Zbrush thing, I was painting yesterday on it and a funny thing is that in Zbrush you are painting individual polygons, so the more high res the better. But for my works, I have prefer painting textures on photoshop, just letting you know.

The portrait looks very funny. My two suggestions about it is that the muscle of the thumb finger seems too fat and shouldn't come out that much.

Hey sawa, really sorry I haven't been able to drop by as often as I would like! There's always cool stuff going on here. Congrats on finishing the cow man! Are you going to be at the Seattle workshop? I'm going to be there, if everything works out. If you or Maestro is going as well, man, that would be great, we could hang out together or something! Hehe.

Well, also I asked about your painting method, because I always have the problem of painting out of my boundaries in photoshop lol hahah.

Nice figure drawings by the way. I should make it a habit to draw using simple shapes like you haha. But the perspective for the house is weird. It looks as if it's a photo taken using a super telephoto zoom lens, and you get that sort of perspective distortion effect.

I'm just making a guess, but I would think probably your vanishing points on the horizon line is fairly close to each other, probably both are within the paper itself. That's probably why it looks like that.

Also, the house pic is not level, but I'm guessing that is the camera rather than your drawing lol.

Sawa
November 1st, 2007, 02:53 PM
couch i dont recommend my painting method lol... there are some problems that i found out to occur with it... lately i usually start with putting the outlines on the top layer and starting to paint in a layer underneath so i can still see the outlines. later on i put everything on one layer, makes it kinda easier if i want to put some other layers for lightning and stuffs on top... ;)
if you have any specific questions, just go ahead. hope i can give you some support ;)
with the house perspective youre right :) i put the vanshing points too close to each other, thats y the perspective is so weird... oh yes and its because of the camera why its not on level lol... was too lazy to switch it around ;)
i wont be able to go to the workshop though :( i'd love to but even if i would find some tickets lying on the street i guess i might not be able to travel that far, since i'll also have final exams next year :( but you guys just have fun there and take some pictures hehe :)

Wow, so finally we got to meet the girl behind the critiques,:bashful: Those eyes, that stare, that's probably the cold look you have when critiquing others work, so cold!! Nah, I am just kidding :P
Nice work with the colors though, the eyes somehow feel out of place in comparison with the rest of the texture, still good job buddy.

In overall with your last update, for the perspective drawing I suggest to use a ruler, there is nothing wrong in using one and you will get better perspective drawings that way. Two point perspective is a tough one, but once you get the hang out of it, is not that bad. The life drawing are looking good, keep it up with those, is just takes practice, practice, practice!

Man, if CouchPotato is coming too to Seattle, you will be missing out for some SB group combo. Oh well, if we get the chance, we will make a toast to you and if we get too drunk, I'll blame the girl in that self portrait for it!:D j/k

I wanted to come early to comment, but I feel is more useful to give you say something useful than the usual "good stuff, keep it up" (which it is still is :P)
I like how you have been using color so far. You have a nice combination in the wolf and horse pic, or in the drunk monster. The devil one really looks like a nightmare creature coming out from a Dr. Zeus book lol

I just wanted to suggest something, and you are free to take it or not, it is up to you what you want to do, but looking at these pieces, I will suggest for the future to focus a bit more in modeling the shapes with value. I see lights and darks in your pieces, but they lack some modeling of the form. I know it might be part of the style you are aiming for, but by using colors to create believable values that model the form, you will learn some as well as expand your horizons. I am saying this in good faith, and no intend to offend you at all. Just something you might want to focus on.

On another note,
i'll take some booze and draw crappy pictures at home at the same time then lols
LOL, no excuses, they better not be crappy, get all the booze you want, but at the time we get back, show us something that will be so good and hard to critique!!! You been warned lol, j/k

huh, I need to get out more often or something. I didn't even realise sawa's a she. I always thought sawa was just some internet person I know from ConceptArt that's in my sketch group where we exchange critiques and encouragements from time to time.

Wait a minute. Isn't that who sawa is anyway...?

:p

Anyhow, yeah, those eyes look like they can shoot polar rays. Who needs a refrigerator when you got those eyes man. lol, just kidding :p

I need to get my ass off and start doing a self portrait. Seems like everybody's doing one lol.

Anyhow, with my paintings at the moment (yes, I'm still doing lol, just that oils take forever to dry haha) I've been told I should work on my brush strokes technique. Currently my brush strokes are like, wall painting you know? Too even and uni directional, haha. I'm studying Cezanne to see how he use his brush strokes, but I'm having real difficulty at the moment trying to understand the whole concept lol. I'm not even sure if I'm explaining the problem correctly heh. If you know anything about this sawa, let me know please! haha.

wow, your self portrait looks creepy with that eyes - looks pretty cool! The dino is awesome, the tail gets pretty dark and lost somehow, a great effect is to have it lit from behind by another light source, just a thin stripe of light around the outer shape of the body, maybe you would like to try. nice nice, keep it up!

couch rofl! dont worry, i guess even since i'm outed as a girl now i'll continue to give crits and encouragements as much as i can ;)
concerning your paintings that stuff about your brush stroke really makes sense to me. your strokes look kinda the same everywhere on the painting. giving them some variation in size and form might really add some dynamic to the paintings :)
also, studying from masters is a great idea! i should definitely do that more often as well since it gives you a new view on things and you always find new ways to accomplish things like getting a nicer brush stroke etc :)
if you have any difficulties or questions just go ahead and ask me! i dont know if im that much helpful by now but ill give my best hehe :)

Sawa, you could always help me chill my beer.....

:dodges flying daggers:

lol, well, I'm glad what I said makes sense to somebody because I can't make sense of it. It would help me lots, and I won't ever ask you to chill my beer again :dodges more flying daggers: (hehe, sorry couldn't resist :p )

Anyhow, it'll help me lots if you could show me a bit of what you mean. Like some example of that variation in size and form thing giving dynamism to the paintings lol.

Also, I just want to say that my network is dead. I think it's going to take a while to get it fixed, so in the meantime I'll be having a somewhat diminished presence in CA.

Btw, if you guys don't mind, maybe we can all add each other to msn or something. Mine is cereals@hotmail.com

Hey Sawa, adding to what Couch Potato said, can you chill out my beer too?? PLEASE :D (***unplugs the computer and runs away*** ok, that was lame):uzi2:

In a more related note, been very busy lately with my senior project so finally I took the time to update stuff and stop by some SBs.

From your last stuff, the variation and colors of the monkey zombie are looking good. You sure know how to handle your media, colored pencils, right?

I feel relieved that you didn't took my last comment in a bad way. Your controller's drawing turned out well and I see you are focusing on value now. When you work on stuff like these, remember to define your shapes with differences in value than with contour lines at all. That will make it look more realistic while with the contour lines it will look a bit cartoonish, which in the end there is nothing bad in those two things it is just a matter of what style you are going for.

I agree with CouchPotato about sharing contact info, if you use hotmail messenger at all :P. Here is mine: *******. Though a funny thing is that if you think about we all three are living in three different sides of the globe with at least 6 or 7 hours in time difference :S

heres some stuff from portfolio course or how its called... the task was to draw apples in ink... lots of apples :D in different styles... there are also some in which i didnt use any contour lines at all :) works fine so far though i should work on them more lol...
i also decided to start that stylized animal dino for next month in a slightly different style since the outlines of the last one really didnt help it a lot.
so thx maestro for the tip on that one :) oh and sorry for the bad quality :/

Hey seeing those different style exercises looks very refreshing. Seems you had fun with the cross hatching. In regards on being tonal, just working with values, you may try to use charcoal. Don't know if you have use it before, but it is really fun, especially because you can applied by smudging with your fingers. It's dirty, cheap and fun! (alright, no dirty thoughts, ok?) j/k ;)

The new dinosaur is coming along well. Not very sure about this, but by the way the face is turned and plus the flow of the tail, kinda guides the eye outside of the page. Not sure about what are your intentions behind the piece, but maybe if you have the tail on the ground aiming towards the poor dead animal, you will give it more emphasis. Just a suggestion :D

The portraits are nice, glad you can get someone to pose for you. Keep doing those and you will improve a lot. Faces are that rewarding. Hey thanks Sawa, that's what I was talking about :p. Like how it turned out.

Those perspective things are crazy, now I feel like trying out those as well, way to many vanishing points. What I notice in the figures lacking is the head to body proportion. This may sound funny, but what you suggest me one time about that the head fist 8 times in the whole figure is an effective way to check proportions. Of course that's an ideal case and it depends from female to male, normally an average male is 7.5 heads tall. So keep those in mind, it surely had help me a lot in my life drawings.

And oh yeah, that Snes thing is so TRIPPING, what media was that made with? It's so OLD school BTW, good old times...

The style experiments are coming along nicely. Maybe you can try some of that with your animal sketches, could give some interesting results you know :)

The hands one is very interesting. Like how you can express a lot with them. Somehow I feel that the thumb of the right hand is kinda short. Also, that robot sketch is a huge change from your previous work, that's how it is, try experimenting new things, expand your horizons :P

Wow, man, I've really been out of this world lately....you have been doing quite a bit sawa! I really like that pod machine thing lol. The figures, I think some of them are maybe out of proportions. Unless...you're deliberately drawing midgets :/

Anyhow...thanks for your comments. I'll try to texture the boat, but seems like most of my texturings so far look pretty bad haha.

Anyhow, I've got another problem before I can texture lol. The scene file is too heavy for my computer to run smoothly, so towards the end, things get a little bit mixed up...the file's in a mess, I have to clean it up somehow first haha.

Happy New Year to you Sawa! Well, it'll be new year in about 2 or 3 hours time in my part of the world haha. About the proportion thing, sometimes, I get so caught up with what I'm doing, and I missed out on my mistakes, it's always great to have another fresh pair of eyes to point you back in the same directions, so please, please, if I make a mistake, don't hesitate to bring it up lol.

It's in that spirit that I mentioned the proportions thing. God knows, I make plenty of awful proportion mistakes myself without realizing it lol, so help me out when I let one slip :D

Also, I just noticed, is that bear from the Golden Compass??!!

Maestro Andres
January 1st, 2008, 01:24 PM
Hey Sawa, happy new year!
You have been doing a good job with the faces. Most of the proportions are looking fine. Are these from life or from pictures? I found that it is harder to do portraits from life than from pics. Anyways, keep doing those since the face is a good exercise to do. On a related note, the bearded guy reminds me to a model that they have at the CA atelier. I have seen him on Coro's paintings and on some of the CA atelier students hehehe.

I like how you create a sense of depth on the dinosaur painting. Only thing that bothers me a bit is that the perspective of the torso looks awkward. By looking at the fins, it looks like a top view but by looking at the main body it looks on a perspective view. I think the problem is that the large fin that is farther from us looks bigger than the one near us. No big deal with those things, hope you have time for it :)

Great updates dude, always enjoy your sense of color in your pics. The one with the tentacles has a nice composition on it but I wish it didn't have the horrible ring division of the SB, it would look great. Also, it will help you if you push further the values, introduce darkers so that way you give more volume to the tentacles.
Other than that, you have to include your new styled animal challenge, it looked good in that thread. Also, your king lion sketch remind me that I was this closed to watch it the other day but the dvd was so badly scratched to play it :S

So, how do you say Lady Sawa in german anyway? lol

Cool on getting that Rembrandt copy up! You're right, the oil one needs more work. As in, quite a lot lol, but don't worry, so does mine (and actually, the ps one needs work as well, but then Andres needs to work more on his ps one too lol), and the important thing is, we started on it, so the next steps are to do more and more, and get it righter and righter bit by bit everytime!

First off, well, I'm not really in a position to say this because I did it myself, but it's one mistake we got to correct, which is that the face in our portrait copies look nothing like Tidus lol. I really think we need to spend the effort to get the shape as right as we can first....This is something I've really been noticing in myself whenever I do life studies nowadays, and it's that I'm not as diligent as I once was in trying to get the shape exactly right (not that I was very good before lol, but I remember spending more effort on it).

Is this like the first layer (the oil) or something Sawa? The paint looks like you put too much turpentine in it lol. It's really washed out and powdery kinda looking. Values need to be pushed a little more, but you know that I'm sure. And the color saturation I feel is stronger in the face area? At least from what I can remember from the source material....

Let's just keep at it until we get better! (we should probably spend a couple more weeks on it before moving on to another piece maybe?)

Maestro Andres
February 17th, 2008, 12:48 PM
Yeah, that's the dino I was talking about! Really funny indeed without looking too gory.

I agree with what CouchPotato said about the rembrandt copy, we really need to work on getting those proportions right especially for the face. Comparing the oils one and PS one, the PS one looks a lot better while the oil one has a bigger smile hehehe. Maybe, you should give up on oils...***Sawa :uzi: Andres*** j/k

Actually the lion is a very good piece. One of your best so far. Like how you create that motion with the hair and combination of different colors in it, very harmonious. Only thing, that kinda detracts is the nose that blends with the background, would have been nice to see it more refined and some detail on it. Not sure about lions, but I know for dogs, their nose is wet and have this nice texture in them, which is somewhat beautiful. Well just suggesting.

What I see in your figures, which I don't know if it is due to lack of time, is that the hands are missing, don't forget about them since they show as much expression as the face.
About the color drawings, they are very good but after working on that rembrandt master study, I learn that having more color variations adds a lot. When only using one hue, the figures look kinda monochromatic, like the face for example. In the rembrandt portrait you will notice that oranges, red even blues and green are used, which add a lot of life. Especially for faces, there are areas that look redish such as the cheeks and nose because that's where the blood arteries (I believe?) are closer to the skin. Just a thought, keep em coming!

Hey buddy, yep we are so late with these master studies stuff, but at least we got them done somewhat :}
With the master study, it turn out pretty good. If we keep doing more, they will get better but at this rate.... jejeje, j/k. One thing I noticed when I did mine was that there were some very subtle cold tones around the chin and lower cheek area, like subtle greens and blues. I found them missing on yours, so just letting you know for next time.
With the hands, I dunno, maybe my fingers are longer than normal (which can be true), but I feel that the main fingers in comparison to the thumb are looking a bit short. Still good to see you tackling them, I should do some as well.
The executioner has great pose and attitude to him. Only thing I can suggest for next time would be to push more the exaggeration and designs to make it look less generic but I guess this is more based on my opinion. Hopefully this month I can join you on that challenge as well. Good luck with the exams.

Like a lot the last updates mate. I am start to wonder what mediums are you using, I see from inks to pencils being used. I will ask you later what you are using. But for sure you are getting a good grasp of how making your drawings very colorful and lively.

I find the butterfly one, great! That touch of the black ink adds a lot to it. Nice to see you experimenting. Can't add anything for now, keep it up!

Hey buddy, forgot to pass around here earlier.
Like you mentioned before, you surely seem to be having fun with these portraits and drawings. With the portraits, seems you are going to some stylization product which is working nicely. The only thing I can suggest is to pay more attention to the structure of the face: position/size of the eyes, middle line, etc.

For example in this one
(http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b260/sawart/Bild227.jpg) Some features look a bit distorted. His left eye seems a bit smaller than the right, and the mouth is not right on the middle of the face. Not wanting to be harsh or anything, just pointing some stuff you might want to focus more in your future pieces.

Hope you are having fun at art school!

HELLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

Wow, been a long time Sawa, looks like you have been working hard! I've been buried in some hole somewhere for the past 6 months (you know why) haha.

So I did a quickie glance through your new stuff.....AND IS THAT A REMBRANDT SELF PORTRAIT COPY I SEE AT THE END???????

Nice! Keep up the good work! Remember to chill the beer before you drink it! :p
