[ Maybe it's made of stainless steel... ]

[ ...maybe it's weird regular holes in the flesh. ]

[ Come up with something peculiar looking, though. ]

[ This can be something that's shooting steam out the back of his head... ]

[ Or maybe a tall cathedral of piping that's erupting vertically from her skull... ]

[ Or perhaps this is just complex patterns of holes and slits in a gleaming black glassy-metal plating... ]

[ Just a few more ideas to get you visualizing coherently. ]

[ ;) ]

My first DSG

I was trying to wait for my wacom to get mailed but this DS is far too sweeeeet. Mouse. 15 minutes.

The presidential veto on military enhancements led to developement of self sustaining suits of armor dubbed Hard Gillys. They were the only way the Free States could maintain a defense network above ground against the 'militarily enhanced' biomechs of the Clans.

I will probably have more up tomorrow...

Okay couldn't resist...I can't wait for my Wacom...

This is actually an alien I am doing in a traditional pencil currently...Its for a blizzard contest...

The Next generation of the confederation rejected the large standing army paradigm of the past confederation and adopted a new smaller faster military whose job was to evolve, just as their enemies had done to them. As they swept through the galaxy wiping out everything in their path their armor quickly evolved to meet all the dangers. Including gaseous attacks.

Hey All,
My wife is using my PC so this one is just in pencil for now. I'll try and repost later in color. Took about an hour or so in pencil.

Hideyoshi - Again, I enjoy the look of your work, but without knowing the title I could have gotten it confused with any other piece of machinery. Still great texture and style though.

Here's my take on it. I messed around with some new techniques to combine my real-world pencil sketches with digital color. I had a lot of fun with this and I'm very pleased with how everything worked out.

Integrated directly into the mind and senses, the enhancment kit can provide a boost to vision, or integrate one sense into another, to allow things such as visually enhanced scent.
The heat generated from the electronics doesn't go to well with the brain, and requires efficent cooling methods.

As in the one I submitted for yesterday's thread, done in charcoal over a graphite pencil outline. Took about 20 minutes…

Great first post to CA MrJackson.

And welcome to the DSG ConCrete and Swift

Hideyoshi and Machzero, I love the atmosphere and backgrounds you incorperated. I always get obsessed with the focal point of the piece to the detriment of the setting... something I need to work on. The great vibe of your creations are really enhanced by the environments they're set in. Nice! :)

Hideyoshi - Very cool... Exactly the sort of response I was hoping for.

Panagos - Excellent. The effective combining of different mediums can produce a very powerful approach.

machzero - It's always refreshing to see you actually use the power that is colour. You owe it to yourself to do this more.

Crustacean - Concerning the first image: I especially like the vent on the mouth and jaw. Nose has good form, too. Seems like there should be a better, more descriptive highlighting of the forehead, though... Shouldn't be that dark, I don't think.

Better late than never, right? This is my first DSG in months, I really need to get back in the habit.

http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c27/Plate11/DSG/chemist2.jpg

Though he has made countless advancements in the scientific fields of mechanics, chemistry, and medicine, Professor Goss is perhaps best known for his signature cranial equipment - a surgically implanted mental enhancer that can triple the brain's efficiency in terms of organization and computation. The system is also a reliable indicator of when the professor is deep in thought - collumns of steam can be seen pouring from the external vents when the cooling system of the device shifts into high gear.

in the near future, warriors who have suffered severe injuries in battle, and are worthy of being upgraded, can have their brains transplanted into robotic devices equipped with even deadlier weapons than avaliable to normal people: psychic lasers (yup, its cheesy and made up in a few minutes)

after having their lower jaws and ears ripped off and the appliances set, the B'rana walk the halls of the Citadel of the Silent Chorus. It is believed their wisdom is passed from the exhalent 'breath' of their hemo-gaseous regulatory machnery into those lucky enough to stand in their wake.

first post to this forum, hopefully of many. though don't hold your breath for a painting. (HAH HA! unintended pun.) that will be a while in appearing. for now it's just pencil and paper.
