Well this is actually my first try at drawing a stone...

After trying to draw some mountains, i came to the conclusion that i have to draw diffrent kinds of stone first, in order to succesfully draw a mountain.
This one here is some kind of firestone-tool made by some prehistoric stoneage-dude.

I would really appreciate any hints of those who know how to draw stones. Because i donīt... thats why i am here, to learn!
Thanks in advance!

Haha, I wish i could have see nthat stone =D It looks like a rotten Apple slice to me o-O I would suggests just finding eh more stones and using them for reference
perhaps a peice of slate or some kind of angularly cleavaged stone would be good for mountains =D gl

heh, when i saw it i thought it was a rock, balanced on end. so it's not _that_ bad. i myself know nothing about painting and texturing stone. I can draw and shade it, but only from reference, and it's debatable how good a job i do. :)

hmm.. i've read books on creating textures for 3d models that show how to paint textures for rock and brick etc. might be a good place to look. you need alot of detail in 3d textures to make it look believable.

eh, what do i know. i'm not a painter (yet) :)
