Show the Master of Suspense some love!... He made some of the best movies of all time!... He's the most represented director in the book 1001 Movies You Need To See Before You Die...

He's not only the Master of Suspense, he's a master director with his skills in the visual aspects of his films.... Take for example Vertigo, he manages to put his fear of heights to make the obvious (the zoom+camera pull-back--Freaky!) and subtle (Scottie is ALWAYS shown driving downhill when tailing Madeline's car--he's slowly falling in love with her!) applications of "falling"...

So, post what films of his did you like (or dislike)... Or which ones have you already seen...

I didn't even know that it was the anniversary of his birth, but I've been renting a few of his movies lately. The Birds and To Catch A Thief to name a couple. Cary Grant really was a one of a kind actor. When he gives Hitchcock that goofy look on the bus in 'Thief', - priceless. I've been looking to rent Lifeboat, but can't seem to find it and Rope might just be one of my favorite Hitchcock film.

Damn!... A reply!... Yeah, only Cary Grant can give a smarmy (maybe Clark Gable--I dunno) look like that and still be the most likable character in the film...

I think I'm barking the Hitchcock love in the wrong tree...

Ha, ha, that may be true, but I would hope not. A lot can be learned from watching his movies.

A lot can be learned from watching his movies.A damn whole lot... I'm making a bold statement here, but I think he's the most influential director outside of D.W. Griffith and Godard...
