Machzero, I like the chopper style bike
Hideyoshi, I don't know how you get them done so quickly but great job. I enjoy how your work is so clean yet still loose enough

This might have been discussed before, but is it really necessary to say how long it took to do a sketch?

I don't think so, for me I will range from anywhere from an hour to a day on DSGs, depends on the level of commitment I think the piece I'm working on deserves (and how much time I can squeeze out of my day). Ultimately it's for practice anyway, so I don't think its a big deal. If I give myself a specific time limit from the beginning, then I will usually post it, but if I'm just doing it for fun, I don't see a need. I can't wait to do this one!!!

Some great work for this topic.
I have not finished my picture, I have to work
a lot in the next few days so here is what I have got so far.
The bike is based on a vespa.

Hideyoshi - very mature and sexy, the bike has a real weight to it.
burrito - yeah, she is a demon women for sure
Crustacean - nice design and perspective
Blue_Tiger - wow, this topic tests how we handle motion and perspective,
I think your picture trys to do a lot. A bold piece imo.
machzero - I like your judge dredd style bike, very detailed.
airrunkle - a good color balance, very moody.good use of textures and depth.

Blue Tiger: thanks! good entry!
airrunkle, ashton: thx!
burrito: cool design!
dindon: Ah, I think, the time factor tells a bit more about what context you see an artwork in.
I have always done so and I will still do so if you don't mind.
I personally want to keep my DSGs up to 1 hour max.

Nothing like a cruise on a low riding hover bike, with the screams of tormented souls as background music, and a nice warm wind on the face.
painter, 30 I guess...

Dindon: Seeing what is accomplishable in forty minutes can be quite inspiring. It certainly has been for me.
Ashton: Thx.

background environments are too difficult...i spent more time trying to figure out what to do in the background than the actual topic...
how in the world can you guys churn em' out so fast?
good stuff all!

I'm not so fast as the rest, but it probably depends on practise
I usuall spent a lot of time on thinking what to draw for a topic and how ;)

I’m sorry I’m posting this piece so late, but I wasn’t able to check the forum for some time and when I did yesterday evening (in Argentina, that it) I found the new topic already posted… Well, I decided to do them both, so here it is… the next I’ll be posting in a while…
Done with charcoal over a graphite pencil line sketch, in about 45 minutes (in three payments of fifteen minutes each).

everyone's come up with cool posts for this one !
here's mine, i think the sketch looks better than the colour version so i'm posting both - if anyone's got any pointers for colouring i'd appreciate it...

Penciled and inked by hand, colored with illustrator with a touch of photoshop. Man this was a great topic :D Now I'll have to catch up with all the new ones.

Thanks, reaper! That's really inspiring! Don't knock yourself, just do what you can. Everyone's gotta start somewhere. Look back at the old pics on my sketchbook, they're pretty rough :) Just doing DSGs and practicing different styles has really increased my skill in the last few weeks. Good luck, looking forward to seeing what you can come up with!

Way late (again), but I thought I'd take a swipe at it...
Done in Paint Shop Pro 8 with my Wacom tablet, because I'm trying to make myself learn to use PSP8 and be less afraid of color... dunno about the results, though...
