I intend to go to University after i finish my last year at college. I finish college in July 2007 and intend to go on to University the same year (take a gap year out if needed to raise cash) Anyway, i really would like some help from you lot here on CA on which univerisity you would suggest.

I wanna take illustration at University. I enjoy drawing and will easily be able to sit down and spend an entire day just drawing away. I plan to go into the comic buisness someday, but we'll see about that. I live in England and i wanted to know what the best universitys are for studying illustration.

Can anyone help me?

(btw, i know this might be in the wrong place, but many people visit the lounge so i thought i'd get more advice posting it here)

Thanks :D

Can't tell you the best uni's mate, because I went to a bad one, but I will say this very important thing READ THE PROSPECTUS. They really detail what they expect, and not all of them consider comic art pure illustration (there could be a heay fine art bias). In my college/uni comic art wasn't very popular within the illustration degree, they kept saying I belonged in the sequential one, despite my protestations that I was here to broaden what I was here to learn.
(Check my sketchbook link in my sig to see what they would still class as comic art)

I got my degree, but it wasn't without resistance. Comic style art polarises teachers, some will love you and othgers will hate you and try to get you kicked off the course!

i'm having similar problems too.. although i'm starting college this september so i'm still a few years off. i believe in the UK you should do a foundation course before going on to uni? thats what i heard from a few people anyway...
