Hello everybody.

Here's two new pieces I finished this week for my site.

I did this for the main index. Dan Dos Santos helped me out in the beginning stages of this piece. Unfortunately, the composition and some other elements were changed ever since. (Thanks, though, Dan!)

And I did this for the gallery/menu page.

I guess I've got a robot fetish or something. Yuck. Hope you all like them! Time to work on the new Thunderdome piece...

Robots can't hate humans! It's against the three laws!

(Oh, and cool work.)

I like both images, but the second one is ace man!
I think one of my favorite things you've ever done .
I can also see a definite 'robin' style developing...which is a good thing.

2nd one = perfection

the 1st one would be great if the girl didn't blend in with the background. I love the robot in this one a lot.

great work Robin, as usual

cant we all just....get along?

we should mate with these robots and make cyborg children. Interesting work btw ;)

very cool colors in the first one, but the girl could be a little more clear. hard to see whats going on in this picture.
the second one is just great.

and yeah, we hate humans!

hey robin.
you know i think the second one is BRILLIANT.
but the first one is not finished, imo.
there are still a lot of problems.

the girl gets totally lost.
and WHY is the point of highest contrast (and thus focus) a seemingly useless rooftop?
put those hard edges and contrast on the girl instead.
unless you are saving it for type, put something in that giant empty space at the top.
and those "pigeons" really dont cut it.

you wanted this to be a "showcase" image, so do it.
spend more time.
refine the girl, i want to see details in her arms.
refine the rooftop, it reads like a balcony, and the lines arent even straight.
and refine those pigeons!

sorry to be so harsh, but i mean it in the most loving way.
the original thumbnail was so much fun to look at.
i watched you progressively reduce the impact of this piece due to self-doubting work habits.

you wanted to make this the best piece you ever did of a girl,
show me what that is.

I agree with everyone here and say that the second piece is the best. The 1st image could use some work and to be honest I have no idea what going there. And for some reason I feel that you should add some more height to the canvas.

Rrrrrrobot! Awesome pieces, I concur with DS's points about the first one. The high value background plane is distracting. ~kill all humans~

Cool pieces, loving the feel of both of em. I would definately agree with the crits on the first, I didn't even notice a girl, the hair makes her go into the BG and her clothing just looks like an unfinished piece of architecture. Your anatomy in the robot is really strong and the girl takes away from that strength. The second has awesome graphic appeal, definately a keeper. Looks like the advice you got from Dan was alright  - Can't wait for the updates -

Dude, that second piece is gorgeous. Absolutely love every part of it, from illustration to type. That first piece looks like a rogh sketch though... the colors seem especialy blown out in terms of color. It's a shame, too, because there looks like there's so much awesome shit going on in that robot. The chick's left arm is suggested a little too loosely, too.

But yeah, that second piece is nice man.

I agree with the other posters as well, the second piece is much stronger. I like the composition of the first piece more, but the girl seems to be a bit washed out. I passed her over untill I looked at the piece a few more times.

I love the title of the thread though :D Those darn robots!

I dissagree abit with some o them pros abit. I like the first one better, except for the human on it. looks so mangaish, with that huge hair and whatnot. Or atleast I like the robot in the first one better. I would like to se you redo the first one, and keeping the robot only, and cutting down a little on them effects... like them both alot.

noshadowmaster, 1-thought, Elwell, KanoaRogers, Thestjester- PEACE to ALL! The Terminator series has taught me a valuable lesson. Robots hate humans.

CoreyArt- Thanks, buddy!

loomer- Thanks, Scott. Yeah I think I'm starting to get a hang of these fancy colors and stuff. :p

poise- Thanks Tiffany! I've got some more to share, but not just yet. ;)

AmishCommy, Arne S., DSillustration, Kresh, gaijin, Mr. Visions, strych9ine, bloodfrog, Chiko, Orifice- Yeah, I've got to admit, that I rushed some parts on the first one. I've been told that it looks better on the site along with the layout than it does by it's self. I'll try to rework this image sometime soon.

So yeah, I'll try to fix up that image when I get a chance. I'm working on other things along with the Thunderdome piece. Thanks for all the comments, peoples :)
