I've been developing this way of working for a few months now. And I wanted to show you guys my progression. These are all character illustrations for a ST PBEM game I've been playing. C&C as always are more than welcome.
----------
First I started off with this. A Caitan character who is a high-up. I was searching here what I could do with the black and white space (the grays I added just today). I drew from a sketch I scanned in and then worked with PS.

Then I did the following two characters. A Mechanic like laid back fat guy and his buddy a boxed in Medusan and it's pet Dr. Snuggles the cat!

The jacket on the fat guy was initially open but i closed it up to accomodate with the greys which i applied just today. As you can see it's still a bit coarse.

Well now for the last two. I've picked up this way of drawing yesterday and continued working on it today. You can see the style is much more developed than the ones above. Much clearer lines and more interesting postures (especially in contrast with the box :P).

This one here is one of the main bad guys. A saurian rebel with a thuggish attitude. Allround nasty bugger.

Then the newest one. A half Klingon singer where I found out that adding greys to the skin makes it much more interesting to look at. I have been messing with the feet this whole day though. So I hope I got it right now.
