Among all things.. she had to be so nice. I've seen a lot in my journeys and she is just a victim of the oddity of this earth.
There are countries specialised in breeding "good men" - where women are ugly and masculine and if you have a daughter is not such a nice event.
Yet there.. she was pretty and feminine... until she reached 17.
Then... her problem begun. Her liver grew to an inrcedible size... and complications were... not to be understood.
She is 45 now.. still holds the nice and kind features on her tiered face... but the rest... well... it's for you to imagine.

Here's my entry, not as good as the last one, but oh well. Oliveria had no where to turn to when her liver began enlarging. Females were not regarded highly in her society, and she was out of luck. Her torso began taking on odd forms as other organs started to enlarge. She was distraught, her beautiful figure that she would have used to find a man to protect her was gone. She ended up in a freakshow, showing her twisted body to make money. There, she met her salvation. One of the other freaks, the human stick, found her pretty face and personality attractive enough that he fell in love.. That was all in their youth. Now, they live in a trailer, the human stick has put some meat on his bones, and she runs an ebay company. At night they keep each other company in front of the warm glow of the TV.

Olivaria was struck ill at the age of seventeen; the cause and cure - unknown. Her insides began to swell to an enormous size. Her parents tried everything they could to find a cure, but to no avail. But one day, a mysterious man came by, claiming to be a healer. He offered his services, asking nothing in return. When he was finished, he left without a word. Days went by, turning into weeks and while the illness appeared to halt, the swelling never went away. It was on the day her younger brother was found nearly beaten to death that she discovered just exactly the gift the wandering healer bestowed upon her. In her grief, she laid her hands on her brother, willing him to live. And live he did. She had been given the ability to heal others, but not without a price - for every time she gave life to the person, she also took it away. In return for the immediate healing of the body, her powers required the giving up of a fraction of the lifespan of the person. And so, as long as Olivaria continues to heal, she will continue to live, young and prosperous, but marked forever by the strange growth.

With each day her affliction conquers more of her body. With each day, tragedy robs her of the gifts bestowed upon her when she entered this world 45 years ago. And yet, with each day, Oliveria grows ever more grateful of the merciful powers that be. For despite years of suffering, they still allowed her face - white as the mountains to the north in winter - to smile with, and share her warmth with the few who choose to visit her. They granted her a rare understanding of how nothing lasts forever in this world, so all things within it are that much more precious.

And they gave her a soul, 45 years ago. While one day all else will be taken from her, only they could ever take her soul.

So Oliveria will continue to smile, to show her gratitude to the powers above, until her body is consumed and her happiness becomes something only she will know.

Oliveria was the most beautifull woman in a country were woman were selected to based in other characters that were not aestethics.
Though unfortunatelly diesase stroke her, at first it was the swelled liver that was latter discovered to be a gigantic parasite, a strange slug probably, a emerging disease, probably caused by a nuclear plant disaster 40 years before.
the parasite lives now with oliveria and can not be removed because it would cause Oliverias death, she has to live in a glass room of the local zoo. She was isolated due to the agressivity of her "passenger" and so that it can not be transmitted.
people now come to the zoo to see the aberration that is still the most beautifull women in this strange country.

Her parents could never explain it. Apparently everything just kept on growing. Well... all except her brain that is. Although she has the body of a bohemoth, her mind is frail and innocent. She's had the mind of a six year old ever since she was six years old. She's always wanted to be like the other girls, but not knowing her own strength, she's paralyzed two of her playmates, and scared away the rest of them.

After Oliverias liver became to large for her body, it was removed and placed in a container and conected to her and was still able to function. Then her body began rejecting her all of her organs, so one by one doctors removed her organs, placed them in containers and reconnected them with tubes from outside her body. As a side effect of this, her skin was starting to fuse together all of her limbs, until she becomes a giant meatball.

Wip, not sure where to take this yet. But I guess this Oliveria has to be someone that has been through a lot because of a physical disease. Considering the brief, I think focus should be on the emotion in this piece. What do you guys think?

Everyone who participated did an interesting take on a really odd subject. But Chuck really managed to make a beauti-- >cough< >wheeze< I mean, expertly designed and executed entry. :)

I still wouldnt pay money to see the movie though. ;)

I chose Blue Severin's first because it was the only one which came close to saying 40 years old to me. Voraz came in close 2nd, but the liver issue didn't seem right some how. Chuck's is gorgeous, but she barely looks 20, and I'm more of a sucker for following the description than the art. I would have liked to have seen more 40 year old faces with some light wrinkles around the eyes and mouth to give these girls an older feel.

i vote chuck because basically, i think it fits the specification the best ( being that her face is still pretty and the rest isnt, i dont see this as much in the other entries) so i think the design is the best, and i think is also painted very nicely =]

the one thing i didn`t follow was her age...
but i figured that she might express more sadness and anguish being a 17-19 y old girl, missing out on all the fun of being young.
come to think of it, i bet Portraying her as a 45 y old woman might have been an even bigger challenge... :)

Whoa, holy blowout! Great stuff Chuck, and everyone else too. This was a tough tough concept. Thanks for the nod Super....ill work on balancing the rendering in the future. Great fun for my first one, hope to see you guys on the next!

Thanks for the vote magicgoo. Yeah, I might have followed the criteria better, but I think Chuck still gets my vote. I mean, arts all about portraying things in the way you want. His drawing is sweet, and his choice to make her young makes more sense with that description.
