well, its been a long time since i posted anything. kinda lazy compared to my other mates.:D

this is my first real effort and attempt at inking. i'm still not quite sure how to do it, so i tried to follow Image Comic's style of inking. i'm also having problems with the placement and positioning of the legs, so please do give me some advice on this.

im sure as hell no expert (my inking skills dont extend past a biro) but line variation is a usefull technique. change the thickness of the lines (not the crosshatching) to emphasize cirtain things, like the belt or shoulder thingo's. it can be used for indicating shadow or depth as well.

and i cant really help you with leg problem, since your already way more competant at anatomy than i am. if it wasent so far inked i would recommend putting him in a one knee up, other leg straight, in a falling kind of pose. anyway, definatly nice first attempt.

hello,
just one tip: if you plan to scan it, forget this 1,000,000,0000 of straights lines or scan with a 8945 dpi resolution f u don't want to cry with photoshop...
keep on workin young X-men:D

to place the legs on the ground lay a perspective grid on the ground...also if the horizon line is about waist level we should then see a little bit of the tops of the feet in perspective,

for inking i would advise looking at frazzeta and the old inking illustrators,

What kind of tools are you using? You may want to try a crowquill pen #102 (they are the pens you dip into ink but they give you a nice variation of line depending on the pressure you apply), or try using a brush to help out with your line weights. Here are some inking tips from this site: http://www.larrydempsey.com/inking/index2.html
