Im selling some necklaces on ebay
This isnt spam im not selling anything so keep readin!
but i dont know what decade to put them in, because they are vintage but i dont know from when, my step dads mum gave them to me, so they are vintage, but on ebay it asks you to put them in by decade
theres a mixture of long beads and shorter chunky ones, and short very small beads with multiple strings to them
anyone have any ideas when those sorts of things were most popular?
heres the links to the pictures.
I am not trying to sell them on here! i just want to give them the correct era!

my vote is for the 80's
while it may not be specifically from that period, the 80's are hot right now and a lot of cute 80's outfits will go great with these necklaces. maybe add some words like 'boho' or 'rockibilly' to grab young vintage buyers attention.

I would think you step dads mum would be your best source for that info.
But I'm kind of doubting that the 80s is the correct age of manufacture.

You've got some really nice pieces there, so it's worth doing some real research so that you can write up the best possible descriptions.

I would say 1980th too and the last one maybe 1950th. The one before is a puzzle though, I don't know.

It's that there plastic 'n stuff so i agree with everyone else, very austin powers.
If they had been real stones, and blood coral. It's 18th, 19th century european fashion we are talking about. the first one beeing blood coral, city fashion. the last one is then deffinitly for a widow then...
But it's fake.... so Damn

another vote against the 80s, though I agree that asking family would be your best bet.
also, just because they're not actual stones (assuming they're not) does not mean they must be from the past 20 years.

Most of these look like early Lucite beads. If so, 1950-1960's is best bet on the colored ones and the "pearls." The black multi-stringed seed-bead piece looks like an earlier design from the 20's, but is also probably from the 50s or 60s. Im thinking the black clunky hexagonal piece, if it's Bakelite, could be from the 20's, but it's probably Lucite also and from the sixties. They ARE vintage, but they're definitely not antique.
I'm a beader. Let us know when you put these up so I can take a crack at them on ebay.

fran, you're an active member of the boards.. and you've put up some questions regarding the necklaces, i'm sure no mod or admin will ban or close your thread if you post links to the auctions. you'd only get banned if you were some mindless spambot selling viagra...
