I don't know how no one has said anything to these, but I love your thought process. you draw, and think about form and shape with one line, and i really like that. No crits from me, just keep emmmm' comin! ;)

great sketches
that first page is really nice. i think you really have it going on when you start varying your line weight and also drop in shapes of dark...keep it up

No rips here either. For 30+ seconds (on a moving subway) these are great. There is enough simplistic detail that the mind fills in the blanks. After seeing these I started bringing my small sketchbook to my second job to do some speed sketches as well. (Working security at a department store allows you to watch someone w/the cameras without them knowing) Can't wait to see more.

thanks for the feedback.
@wes: you're right, i'm still having a lot of trouble with those issues. seeing value is so difficult for me. :(

these are great. nice to see you getting out into the field! drawing like this will teach you sooooo much. my only crits, and they arent really crits, more suggestions, would be to try to be as precise as possible. theres nothing wrong with "finding" a line, but i've found that there's a great challenge in trying to capture a likeness in as few lines as possible, also, try using a pen. pens are much more final, and urge confidence in line. i only say these things as they have helped me enormously in doing the same thing. great effort, can't wait to see more. keep 'em coming.-c36

@coro: thanks for dropping a couple lines. when riding the subway i usually want to avoid people recognizing what i do (im on the same line every day at the same time, you know what that means). problem is i cant look up and down comparing proportions as much as in class (or at home). lately this led to the habit of looking once or twice drawing the rest from memory, after a couple months i flipped through the sketches and realized they were all looking very much alike.. i just didnt look close any more, it was an awful pain in the ass to get out of this again. i have been asking myself lately if that way is the right one, i mean just taking a peek or two. dont i draw to understand more of the figure and if so isnt it more important than anything else to look very precisely and note exactly that down? i do not know. sorry if it doesnt make sense (i def. suck at translating my braingibberish to english), i just feel i'm stuck at that point, maybe you got a hint on how to continue?
for all those who wanted more:

i feel my pensketches are somewhat stiffer, but maybe it's just my lack of practice.
