Hi, all. I've been lurking on this board for a while looking at all the fantastic art produced by you guys and I've finally decided to post something of my own.
The concept is for a personal project based in the steampunk genre.

It's a bit bland for a main character concept so I'll be going back to the drawing board and funking him up a lot over the next few days.
Any crits or advice would be great.
cheers,

Hey Nibz,
Overal it looks interesting. Perhaps add some more contrast to the overal pic would help improve it. Make him a bit more dramatic.
Also that green sheen on the right I think there should be more on the arm as a whole.
And is it me or it looks like he's putting his hand in his groin area? Pehaps shifting the the pocket to our right will correct that. ;)
Well hope this helps

Thanks for the comments octopus.
Yeah i get where you are coming from.
I'll do the changes your suggesting and looking at it again, i also think the coat doesn't look like it is accomodating the weight of his arm resting in the pocket. I think it needs to look more stretched.

hello nibz,
great work but i've got 2 crits for u:
I think you should work the background anymore, the green light only focus on your perso's arm ? And maybe the coat is too contrasted... it becomes surrealistic, natural lights never are so strong...
keep on working, it will be nice!!!:chug:

Hi all, thanks for the response. I haven't had as much time as i would have likes to work on this of late. A few changes to the contrast and shading and i've moved the pocket so it doen't look like he's touching himself anymore.
