Scientists have created an artwork that changes according to viewer's faces.
Its a digital piece that renders 'happier' or more aggressive colour choises and brush strokes based on the same source image.
Check it here. (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/5242060.stm)

I'm dying to know what the results would be as I swing my 8-pound sledge hammer at it. Maybe i should draw a face on the working end first to give it a fighting chance...

I see a fundamental flaw: the only possible reactions to that ugly-ass "painting" are anger and disgust.

as i remember these comments i would perhaps flash a hint of a smile when id see it?
i personally think art piece is a big word here - its more a collection of painter or photoshop filter choices coupled to facial recognition.
but i do like the underlying principle of installations that can be manipulated/influenced by viewers through different input devices. i think john maeda made a couple of nice pieces that way.
