It's been a long time since i posted my last piece here, hopefully i've improved somewhat. Took me a while to pluck up the courage to post on this crazy good forum =)

Anyway, on with my stuff!

I was browsing around looking for ideas for armour design (making a mod for oblivion) when i came across this pic from some guy's avatar on the elder scrolls forum. I fell in love with the pose, so i used it as a ref (offtopic: if anyone can tell me where this guy's left arm is in the ref i would love to know =P)

And here's what i've come up with after countless revisions over the past day or two...

http://img408.imageshack.us/img408/4449/knight5xp9.jpg

I'm about done with the lineart now, although i've spent wayyy too long doing the lineweights and stuff only to realise that when i come to colour it shortly, i'm going to be ditching it all anyway :/. You learn from your mistakes i guess.

Anybody have any C+C before on my guy before i go ahead and start the colouring? I'm willing to do any last minute changes no matter how big or small if there is something seriously wrong.

Cheers for looking!

The guy in ur ref image has him arm up and his hand is in the dark area just below his shoulder.

Also, your guy's right arm is a bit too short, nice design though... :)

this reminds me of the chaos knights from hero quest, awesome design. Love the clean lines... Arm is a bit short though.

its a good design, so fare the only major issue has already been mentioned. the armor on his right thigh is a little off center but its no big deal. - JAG

Armor design is awesome. The pose is working for the most part, but there are some issues with anatomy and the rendering of 3D objects. Example: his right forearm seems flat, lines need to convey the roundness of his arm more (and it is too short). His left arm too, where his elbow armor is, the linework is striaght, making it look flat. Same with his right knee plate. His feet are a problem too, he has no insteps. The top of his feet should start up higher and have more of an angle. The studded sword crossbar (say THAT really fast over and over again!) is a little off too, not striaght with the rest of the sword. Makes it seem broken.

Kick ass armor design. I don't think you should consider the line work a waste of time, cuz this stands on it's own as a line drawing regardless wether or not you're going to paint it. Keep both versions!

Man, that's a shame that you're ditching your lines, I guess it's good practice though, eh? That's a great adaptation of your reference image. The only thing I'd say is that his feet look a little too small, not in length, but in height and width. You have to consider that this guy is wearing heavy armor and there's got to be some bulk down there. But as of now, his feet are about the size they'd be if he were bare foot. I think if you add a bit more volume to his feet, it may help give him a more solid presence. All and all though, I'm just nit-picking.

Very nice work.
